Woot. Hard to believe that awesome system launched that long ago, but also hard to believe I was alive for it.

And in a way, the Modern Video Game Industry has existed for 25 years as well.

Really, the industry owes most of what it is to Nintendo. They pretty much made the beginning practices what they are. The industry has evolved beyond the strict practices of Nintendo, but the foundations are still there, and most of our favorite game franchises started there.

That being said, my sister's birthday takes priority.

Still, A Toast to Nintendo and its NES system, it indeed has the Power.

We saw a bus driving around today which had a giant poster thing on the side to celebrate, with a big lineup of Mario in different eras. Yes, in Perth, Western Australia (this sort of thing is unheard of XD).

I was born right at the death of the NES in '94.

That being said, the NES is probably my favorite console of all time.
