The Best Playable Video Game Demakes

New Games, Old Systems: The Best (Playable!) Video Game Demakes from 1UP.com

What's funner than playing a modern video game? Playing the same game if it were made 30 years ago!

Suprised this wasn't on there.

Regardless, I've heard of almost none of those demakes on that list.

It's a cool list, but the writer apparently doesn't know much about the hardware he's comparing the mock games to.

He claims that looks like a PC game from 1993.

You know what made a big splash in PC games, 93?

Doom.

Gabriel Knight.

Myst.

Did he mean 1983? Because you're right, graphics had certainly advanced past that by 1993.

I'm guessing not, since he compared it to Lemmings, which is similar in appearance.. on Amiga computers from 1987, with more detailed backgrounds. Even that launched in 1991.

Despite looking like it's from 1993, no game had online options like this until 1996 and Quake.
And to be fair, it probably plays more like Hunter Hunted than Quake, which was another game in the first wave of online titles from 96.

So this won't count for actual game companies de-making their own games/gameplay, just referring to the link's games, right? Just want to clarify before I say something stupid.
