Post up the best and the worst, I wanna see em. Here's a few of my absolute faves, to get us started: SIERRA Online! Nothing says "old DOS PC" like this baby. Konami on SNES - I still get shivers when I boot up a game with this thing in it. Turtles in Time is the pinnacle of beatemups. CAPCOM on the SNES - Mega Man X: Man that is one bomb ass intro.

Of course, we can't forget:

It's funny to me in a way that I never cared much about SEGA stuff back in the day, but recently they've published some of the more interesting games (House of the Dead, Mad World, Conduit). |

Didn't help that the series grew away from everything I liked about it. |

Too bad I can't remember many other good splash screens. Crystal Dynamics had at least one cool one: Then there's the Iguana Entertainment logo from Turok 2:

Love that little music hook. It seems most game companies forget their heritage as they get older, trying to pull in changing audiences. Iguana and Probe were two of my favorite studios during the late 90s. It's a shame Acclaim's offices were so effing corrupt, because that was a great company before they ran it into the ground. My favorite part of the 007 one is how it goes straight into the Bond theme song. And that game is a pretty big part of my childhood gaming, so it sticks with me.
