Okay, here's the drill: I'm keeping this topic stickied, and in it I will be posting links to everything and anything NES or SNES related on the net. PM if you ever find that a site I've linked to goes down, and feel free to leave comments all you like. If you know of a site I'm missing, make comment here, and I'll check it out.

That said, let's get started:
__________________________________________
NES COLLECTION/REVIEW SITES

www.NESWORLD.com - NESWORLD is an extensive site maintained by a single collector who reviews clone systems, multicarts, prototypes, and keeps updates on the latest relating news. He has lists of tons of pirate carts, and has archived Nintendo's legal exploits during the NES era. Tons of content, go check it out. Updates semi-frequently.

The Warp Zone - Somewhat similar to NES World, has articles on every aspect of the NES system and its marketing. Particularily of interest are articles written about unreleased games, and their likewise fates after production. It has many smaller sub-sites which I may or may not link to individually later on. Updated rather haphazardly.

NESplayer.com - Another all-around collector/review site. Plenty of interesting information for those willing to dig around - decent amount of links to related sites, too. One unique characteristic could be the large amount of "shrines" they've put together for particular games. Also worth mentioning is their hardware mods page.

__________________________________________
SNES COLLECTION/REVIEW SITES

SNES central - One of the best sites for SNES info on the web, infrequently updated.
SNES central is home to a wide variety of content, from articles to peripherals to pirates.
___________________________________________
NO LONGER UPDATED SITES

the NES Enshrined - NES Enshrined is a private site that has been left to the ravages of the net. It seems decent for a Geocities-type page with reviews, philosophy, NES media, and more. Pretty annoying midi on there, though.

NEStopia - A high-quality Geocities page with tons of easily accessible content. Notably shares the same name with an emulator that likely came after the author gave up the ghost. Most valuable feature of the site is the list of rarities, which compares NES carts and controllers on a scale of rarity from A+ to E.

Aw, man, I can't believe I overlooked NESWorld. They have a nice amount of information of pirated units. Many thanks, AI.

That's just the sort of reason I'm doing this. When I get the time to waste on this again, I'll do more write-ups. I'll try to focus on Nintendo-specific sites, first. Between working on a rom-hack, writing music, and maintaining a somewhat-crippled social life, I'm kind of stretched for free time.

There was an awesome site called the NES Enshrined. It went down, or the creator ditched it, but some pages are kept online somewhere.

Thanks for the suggestion, I found it, and it's up on the list, now. If you were thinking of a different site, lemme know and I'll look some more.

Red face

Yeeesss, I've been there before. It's a little general for what I'm thinking of, but I do agree it has plenty of old Nintendo content.

Nintendoland isn't retro in particular, unfortunately. Honorable mention, though. As well as Classicgaming.com

Awesome. Thanks a ton for the links, Mushroom. I'll skim through them and give them each a short writeup over the next few days.

How is it spam? It's related to retro Nintendo, so it's perfectly on topic.

I'm the moderator, so it would be pretty assinine to whine about my topic being spam. Thanks for the props.

Seems I forgot to checkout those links Mushroom posted >_>

Well, I suppose I'll get to them sometimes soon, having all this free time.
