I'm gonna do this Game Players style. 'Cause I can.

Gameplay

Pro: Adds the 3D element to the Metroid series really well. Aside from being fun, the ability to download information on dozens of animals on Tallon IV, plus Chozo and Space Pirate journals makes the game interesting.

Cons: Almost destroys the common Metroid theme expirementing with weapons to blow up walls and enemies by the "Scan data," which tells you nearly everything about what to destroy and what to use to destroy it. Another Metroid theme, obtaining items through Chozo statues, is almost non-existent here.

Graphix

Pro: Samus's suit looks sweet, the enemies look pretty cool, and the enviroments are breathtaking. One of the best I've seen for the system. (as is common with Metroid games)

Con: Not quite scary enough...

Sound

Pro: The sounds fit well, and unlike the universal "squawk" sounds of Super Metroid and the "Bleet" of Metroid, each animal actually makes its own sounds. The Space Pirates sound awesome.

Con: The Metroid "remixes" are too techno and have nearly no melodies. The only songs from this game I like are the first Tallon Overworld song and the Chapel of the Elders song.

Controls

Pro: It's amazing how fast you can get used to the control style.

Con: Until you do, it's a pain in the arse. Plus, the visor view is often clumsy and makes it difficult to see incoming enemies, such as wasps.

Replay

Pro: If you like cool graphix, you may walk through Tallon a few times after beating this. Also, the Metroid Fusion bonuses may keep you hooked for a while longer.

Con: Graphix will eventually lose their edge...

Overall: 89%

Great game, but could've been better. I was really disappointed with the Chozo ruins, and hoped they would look more... Chozoish. They were too Aztecish. But the variety of enemies, weapons, and enviroments will please both Metroid-fans and n00bs. Go get this!

Metroid Prime is overrated, but I've only played at a friend's house, so maybe I'm mistaken. But the game should NEVER have been first-person. That was the worst part.
