Don't expect me to do many of these. Game Reviews are more fun to do, and more ont topic as this is VGF. Anyway, this was made by Disney. And probably a bunch of other people, whose names could probably remember if I wanted to, but I don't feel like it, so I won't. Graphics are... no, this is a movie. My mistake. Hang on, I probably just could've deleted that message, ah well, I am a lazy bum. As we all know, Holes the movie is based off of Holes the book. And this movie wins the reward of "best movie conversion of a book reward," that is, if there actually was one. You see, the only noticable difference between the movie and the book is, well, the movie is on the screen, whereas the book is... a book. Whether that's good or bad depends on whether you liked the book. The gameplay is... um, okay never mind. I really shold start making use of the "delete" key on my keyboard. Anyway, acting is good, the guy that plays Mr. Sir is particuarily good, and I'm pretty certain that he's played by some famous actor or somewhat, but I suck at remembering names. I mean, half the people in my school know who I am, and I know the names of... 7 of them. No, 8. You know, I really suck at these movie reviews. I swear, I am never doing one again. Well, maybe once or twice. Eventually. Anyway, the big flaw in this movie is exactly the same as in the book. It gats contrivived towardes the end. I can live with that. And the scenes with the yellow spotted lizards were cool, because the lizards, while scary, were somehow, in a weird way, adorable. Sort of like The Luggage from the Discworld series of books. Ah, Luggage. I remember that one part where The Luggage is sitting by the wall where previously, there had been a door leading to a magic shop that Rincewind and Twoflower had gone into but the door magically disappeared and then Cohen and a blacksmith dwarf come in and Cohen starts talking to The Luggage and its like "All right, I don't like you and you don't like me but where's the wizard and the tourist?" and the dwarf thinks Cohen's crazy because he's talking to a suitcase but then The Luggage extends his legs and the blacksmith dwarf is like: Remember how I said I'm never doing a movie review again? I rest my case. Anyway, if you hated the book (I know this applies to some people) you'll hate this. Everyone else has probably already seen this movie, and doesn't need my opinion. 4 Stars. -A Genius (The Luggage rules.) [ April 19, 2003, 10:04 PM: Message edited by: A Genius is stupid ] |

The only thing they left out was that thing about Stanley getting beaten up by that short kid.... and I doubt anyone but hardcore fans of the book will have a clue of what I'm talking about. -A Genius (Come to think of it, that might've actually been from a different book.) |

Anyway, if you want information, then some kid with a family curse or something gets falsely accused of stealing shoes and is then sent to a camp where you dig holes every day, and the camp used to be overrun by some evil cowgirl or something at she buried a treasure and that why he's digging holes and stuff. -A Genius (There's some other stuff too, I guess, but the review was admittidely geared toward people that read the book.) |

Those expectations were met with flying colors. In case you're wondering, this is a link to my full review at IMDb.</a> And remember, "I'm-a Shia, number one!" |
