Final Fantasy Legend 1: 0/10
The whole game is terrible, in fact, this is the first terrible game for the gameboy, and it certianly is not the last. The storyline is what got alot of 12 year old newbs on it, "There is a tower in the center of the world, and each floor leads to a different world, and at the top of the tower...", well, that does make you want to play it, but when you start the game, it's get your party and go to the top of the tower. Reason being....No apparant reason at all. and not to mention, it'd be alot easier if you PICKED your party members when you created the main character, not go to a place that's hidden in the middle of nowhere to hire someone, and not to mention, it is so hard, you can't help but yell "DIE FIEND DIE!" every 10 seconds during a regular encounter, and not to mention, they are not at all literate about where you're supposed to go, so it can take up to 40 hours just to get from one world to another, and not to mention, trhe music is awful, it makes you tear off the headphones and scream. Sure the boss battle music and the final battle music are great, but not so great if you beat the last boss with just a saw and spend countless hours on the boss fights. Also, the biggest drawback is the leveling up system. It's that awful thing that FF2 used, and there's also the fatal error that Human's don't gain HP. it stays at 40 throughout the duration of the game. Overall, the first crappy gameboy game.

Final Fantasy legend 2-9/10
Alot of smart people wouldn't even touch this game, even though it beared the name Final Fantasy. Unlike the other games in the FFL series, the storyline actually makes sense, because your father goes out to get the MAGI and gives you the prisim MAGI. So, when you're old enough, you decide to go out after him and you end up with all 77 if the Magi. That make sense? Yes it does, and this game features the NPC's, most are strong and some are as weak as a piece of thread (Mainly Lynn). One good thing is that the game lets you pick the party members and they aren't permanatly gone when they are dead! w00t! The Music can get a little on the annoying side, but you can just change the music. The Leveling up system is just TERRIBLE! you gain HP by losing a certain amount of HP, gain mana by using spellbooks, defense by getting hit a lot, and strength by attacking. The Boss fights are another one of the drawbacks, they are very annoying and just Venus alone can take up to 2000 times to beat, and Odin so far is the hardest, as you have to deplete his high HP in 6 rounds. If you ignore the drawbacks, then you will be healed from the pain that Final Ecstasy legend induced onto you and enjoy the game.

Final Ecstasy legend 3-4/10
By far, some know this as the best game in the Final fantasy legend series, mainly because you don't have that stupid leveling up system and the pick your party stuff, well, in my opinion, Final Ecstasy legend 3 is just a little better than Final Ecstasy legend 1, but it still sucks either way. The Boss music is the best in the whole series, the only reason worth playing it. Also, the storyline makes as much sense as probability. "Go to the tower and collect the lost magic float." Why? "stop Xagor from flooding the earth!" Why? "Find lara!" Why? The only other good thing about the game besides the boss music is the fact that they don't use that STUPID LEVELING UP SYSTEM THEY DID IN THE PREVIOUS GAMES!! They have "Levels" now, but you need a million EXP to get from one level to the next, and the enemies give out 1, and 2 EXP if you're lucky, and you need to be at level 99 to even THINK about going anywhere NEAR a boss. Overall, the game is way too hard and way too overrated, the only reason worth playing it is for the boss music, and the last battle music's nice too, allthough you might drown the music out by yelling "DIE XAGOR DIE DIE DIIIIEEE!!!" every 10 seconds.

overall, only the 2nd game is worth buying, the 3rd one is pretty bad, and the 1st one is the first gameboy game that introduced game induced pain.
