I'm redoing an old one: Metroid Fusion

You might remember, a while back, I did a review on Metroid Fusion. I gave the game a 9.5 out of 10. This was before I learned a few things essential to review making. Namely, don't review a game until you complete the goddamned thing, and once your done, complete it again! Anyway.... I shudder whenever I read those old reviews. It makes me want to shooot myself. Anyway.... my opinions have changed. The game has fairly good graphics, decent music, and piss poor gameplay.Now that I've played the orginal Metroid, I can see this game in a whole new light, and it makes me annoyed. And whenever I'm annoyed, I like to post particularily nonsensical messages here. I takes two cows to change a diaper into a muffin, but only if they're covered in blue paint. Blue paint helps the soul.

Erhem. Anyway... my big problem with MF is it's easiness level. The only bosses that challenged me AT ALL were Nightmare and the Spdier thing. And those are not fun toughness. They're annoying toughness. They're "How the hell was I supposed to dodge THAT" toughness. Oh, sure. Eventually, they get easier, and you can beat them in your sleep. But until then, they're stupid-hard bosses pitched in with stupid-easy ones.

And the regular questing is also pretty pathetic. Some of the ideas aren't bad. There's this bit where ultra cold X parasites float around, and Samus has to avoid them. But they're too easy to avoid. And while most enemies do a lot of damage, most of their attack are easily dodged and don't pose much of a threat.

And don't get me started on the computer system. I hated that thing so much the second time around. Always guiding you everywhere, while for this particular level layout, it was probably necessary, they easily could've patched up the layout and had no problem.

The one cool thing about the gameplay is the battles with SA-X. SA-X is a really cool villain, and I don't care how lame it sounds. They should put that guy in future games. SA-X rules.

The graphics are pretty good. The cutscenes are simpler than you'd think. The opening shots are cool, but after that, they're just a bunch of pictures of Samus saying stuff. But you know they did put some good amounts of effort into the sprites, because Samus's blaster is ALWAYS on her right arm. So's SA-X's. The enemy sprites are okay. The bosses look like you'd expect them to. Nothing big here.

The music is pretty good. I didn't particularily notice any of the tunes, but I didn't find any of them ear rattlingly horrible.

Replay value... I played it twice and never thought about it again. Not much here.

Overall, this game is not very good. I like it more than Metroid Prime, but I didn't expect to like Metroid Prime, so I can't complain much there. FIRST PERSON SUCKS!

SA-X was pretty hard for me, same with Nightmare and that gigantic Spider thing, and the Gigantic Spider thing gave me Nightmares because I have Arachnophobia.

Finally, about time someone other than me decided to give this game a score lower than a 10. (I gave it a 6)
