| Guest Posts: n/a | Okay, I know that there has been alot of Anti-Phantasy Star III stuff coming out of my mouth, and for some of you who don't know why, I figure I'd just post this review for Phantasy Star III, which should be called Ecstasy Star III. The Final Boss looks cool. Now that we've got the Positives out of the way, let's talk about why I hate this game so much. The graphics are terrible. The graphics in SHINING FORCE were better. These graphics make the characters look very cheap and some of the enemies look like cardboard cut-outs, and one kind of monster is a rubber duck, and what the hell kind of computer did Sega use to make these graphics? I believe if you look on the side, it says Etch-a-sketch. Also, while using their Etch-a-sketch to draw the graphics, they made a Terrible horrible no good very bad mistake-You don't see your characters attack. Sure, let's just put Cheap imitations of weapons attacking the enemies here, they'll love it! And while you're at it, why not drop that marijuana. It'll cause you to make better games! The music is enough to make you want to tear the speaker off the TV. Okay, sure some music is pretty good to hear, like the Wedding theme and Laya's theme. The other music is basically just an autistic 4 year old stimming on the Electric Piano with the volume on Full blast and attaching it to 10 foot speakers. Truthfully, one note of the badly done themes and you'll be pounding your head on the wall asking "Why why why did I have to play this game instead of IV? why why WHY?!" Don't actually pound your head on the wall. The gameplay is a pathetic example of the controls of the Genesis. They are way too linear, especially with the pathetically easy boss that even make IGGY KOOPA look like Emerald weapon! Dear lord Sega what did we do to deserve this? The storyline is the other good thing about Ecstasy Star III. It takes place right after the events of PS2, and you control several generations. It starts out pretty good, but before you know it, you'll be wondering what the hell that character had to do with the storyline and then you'll beat the game almost completley oblivious to what the hell is happening. Replay value? Read these words. NO REPLAY VALUE!!! This game deserves to be hurled out the 4th story window, its remains shoved in the garbage disposal, then the remains burnt. Overall, the game is the worst one in the series, not in other series where the 3rd one is usually the best (Example: Return of the Jedi), the 3rd one is a pathetic excuse for a Phantasy Star game. Sega, anytime you wanted to release the REAL Phantasy Star III is fine with me, because this is NOT funny in ANY way. 2.5/10 Awards: -Crap award, Score below 2.5 -Backstreet Boys quality music -Blinding Graphics [ September 19, 2003, 11:25 PM: Message edited by: Douglas-Scarface lives. ] |

| Guest Posts: n/a | I have a Phantasy Star III review ready to go up, but I can't until I get my site folder back. Phantasy Star III has so little to do with the other three Phantasy Stars (Online series not included), it's pathetic. Yet there is something there. *PHANTASY STAR II AND III SPOILER ALARM* . . . . . . . . . The Dark Force possessed Mother Brain sends the Gaira Satellite crashing into Parma in Phantasy Star II, reducing Parma to an asteroid belt. Several escape ships manage to flee. Some land on Motavia and Dezolis, some get caught in the orbits of those two, and some go flying out to space. Phantasy Star III takes place on one of those "lost" space ships. . . . . . . . . . (END SPOILER) And the game takes place at the exact same time as IV. |

| Guest Posts: n/a | Wasn't there a Phantasy star adventure and Phantasy Star Gaiden for some handheld system? ![]() |

| Guest Posts: n/a | Yes. Both were Japan only. Gaiden is Game Gear. Not sure what Adventure was for. |

| Guest Posts: n/a | ^Only half an hour? Wow. That pretty much kicks the crap out of how long it takes to beat DBZ legacy of Goku. |
