| Guest Posts: n/a | I wanted to review this game sooner, but unfortunatley, I had barley scratched the surface once my sister wanted to have a go on it and I wanted to go here. (And FFTA is the main reason why it looks like I'm dead. I cannot stop the missions!!) About 50 hours game time and about 5 or 6 cans of Diet Pepsi and almost missing 2 assignments as well as my The Iliad book report later, I finally beat FFTA at 291 missions and like 56 hours gametime. That beats the amount of time it took for me to beat FFT. (It took 55 hours the first time and 15 hours the second time because I was rushing through) Graphics: 8.3/10 The graphics are pretty good-I like how cute the moogles are (Thank god they don't make plushies of them or else I'll be neck-deep in them for christmas. When I find a picture of Montblanc, THAT will be going on my locker next to the pictures of Zell and Irvine that's for sure. ) and I just want to squeeze them because they are so CUTE! (Just so you know, I am a girl, though I don't act like it sometimes) and how well the portraits are done. One bad thing is how some of the enemies look like your clan members sometime, so if you aren't careful, you might accidentially wind up killing half your clan members-And there is nothing worse than accidentially attacking your own Gunner thinking it's the enemy.Music: 6/10 The music sounds kind of like Elevator music. The Totema music is very awsome, same with the music you hear while fighting with Ritz and Shara, and the last battle phases 2&3. (The last 3 battles do count as one since you don't get a chance to save inbetween them and the laws are the same) The other kind of music seems too boring and repetive like Elevator music. (Well, not THAT bad.) If you ask me, the truly great musics are the ones that are neglected most. Gameplay: 9.45/10 Sure, I'll admit, it's a shame that you can't rotate the camera, (And at least they got rid of some of the stuff like really high hazards you can go behind, and that's probably why you can't rotate the camera) but the rest of the controls are as easy to pick up as a shiny new time on the floor of a mall. Storyline: 3/10 Okay, I'll admit it. I did not like the storyline. I don't HATE it or anything, but I just didn't like it. The Storyline reminded me of The Neverending Story most of the time, and in my case, that isn't a good thing, especially since I am no longer in 4th or 5th grade. The Neverending Story isn't really a bad book, but I read it in like 5th grade, loved it, decided to re-read it in 8th grade and found it rather boring. Had this game been around while I was 10 or 11, then I would have loved the storyline. But I am 15 and...Well, I don't find plots like that very interesting anymore. Difficulty: 4/10 The difficulty is one of the other plots. While some Totema (Especially Mateus and Adrammelch) are very hard and challenging, and some battles like surviving Llednar and fighting Ritz without knowing Carbuncle are pretty hard. Alot of missions are either way too easy or are too short. The Final boss is too easy. Not only did I take it out in about less than 2 minutes (It may have been my 2 characters with Double sword and my Gunner with Concentrate though), but I hardly lost any health while doing so. (It also may have been the fact that I managed to slience it) The Laws are just damn annoying-Especially how Mateus broke 2 laws and didn't even get arrested, yet Marche accidentially breaks one law ane he's in jail without so much as a yellow card. I resisted alot of temptations to scream "*#@&%!! YOU JUDGEMASTER CID!!" after seeing my moogles get arrested just for attacking. This game was probably meant for beginners in terms of difficulty.Replay Value: 10/10 There are, like 300 missions and 36(?) possible jobs here. OF COURSE THERE IS REPLAY VALUE!! Overall: 7.98/10 The game suffers a LOT in the difficulty category and storyline category. (Well, the storyline's just me) but the game is pretty good if you ignore that. Overall, this is a good game to be on your Christmas Wish list if you don't have it already. |
