This game is...perfect. Just as I was starting to think GameCube was going downhill, Capcom surprises us with this positively Viewtiful game about an average movie-goer named Joe who is sucked into an old superhero movie, where he becomes the superhero Viewtiful Joe and fights biazarre supervillains villains in seven lengthy, action-packed episodes while he quests to rescue his girlfriend, the classic damsel in distress with superpowers resembling movie special effects.

Graphics: 10/10
The graphics are Viewtiful. When you're in normal Joe form, the graphics appear grainy and dilipidated, like an old color movie. But when you turn into the superhero Viewtiful Joe, the graphics become clear and criso. The attacks are well animated and breathes life nto the 2-D sidescroller genre.

Gameplay: 9/10
The controls are very simple: A to jump, Y to punch, X to kick, hold L to activate Slow-Motion, R for Mach Speed, and use the C-stick or B button for Zoom-in. The powers themselves are nothing short of Viewtiful. The Slow-Motion slows down time Matrix-style, allowing you to dodge bullets and enemy attacks or solve puzzles. Mach Speed lets you move at high speed and pull off high-speed, DBZ-like strings of combos. And in Zoom-In, the camera homes in on Joe and allows you to do supercool moves. But all of these drain your VFX meter, which can be extended by collecting V-Watches. But if your VFX Meter emptis out, you'll temporarily revert to normal Joe. You also collect V-Points which can be used to buy new powers at the V-Store between missions.

Story: 10/10
Joe's a big fan of old superhero movies starring his idol, Captain Blue. But at the movie's climax, Blue is killed by his mysterious arch-nemisis. but that's when things get weird, as Joe and his gilfriend Silvia are pulled into the movie! Each episode after that has an individual story as Joe becomes the superhero Viewtiful Joe and takes on differant challenges in each episode. In short, it's creative and very humorous.

Replayability: 10/10
I don't wanna spoil anything the same way it was spoiled to me, but let's just say there are great advantages to replaying this game..

Overall: 9.75/10
If you're a video gamer, you'll VJ, with it's great difficulty and special bonuses. If you don't like this game, then your tastw cells must have been defiled at birth. Good night, and - oh yeah... HENSHIN A-GO-GO, BABY!!!

I wouldn't say its perfect, at many points it can be quite retarted.

However, it is an excellently excellent game. (Doesn't that just ring redundancy?)

If pot is game enhancing... why do I still suck at video games?

Reflexes can be easily enhanced by playing Mario Tennis 24/7(by playing against a star mode, intense/ max difficulty Shy Guy, he practically thrives on your mistakes to win, making him a very tough opponent), after that play other games.

This is true though the strain I sellect before playing a video game is very crucial. Seeing as how I grow my own, I have two seperate strains of Marijuana. One is an Indica plant called Northern Ligths, the other is a Sativa based plant called Mr. Nice or (G13). I usually light up a doobie of the Indica NL because it allows me to stay cerebral and form coherent thoughts...the Sativa however just knocks me on my ass and leaves me with about enough brain power to barely play a game like Animal Crossing !!

Dude. VJ wasn't made by sega. Try CAPCOM, and you're sure to hit the mark, though. I think they deserve some credit for such a kickass game.

Just played about 30 minutes of it over at a friends house. Too bad I don't have a Gamecube.
