Although Sonic Heroes is similar in many ways to the Adventure games, don't expect "Sonic Adventure 3." Sega and Sonic Team have done some heavy revamping, such as the new team feature. This can either make or break your experience. Either way, the new gameplay will feel different than the Adventure games series. First off, to graphics. The graphics are nice and purdy(is that a word) and right from the beginning cinema you can tell the character models will remind you abit of Sonic CD.(BTW, Metal Sonic=teh c0ols0rz) Their are still glitches, but not as plentiful as they were in the previous Adventure games. The glitches also aren't as annoying, but they are occasionally there. There are also much less CG movies. About one every two levels(excluding bosses.) The CG is nice, but not very long. Graphics and framerate is smooth and won’t leave too much problems. Graphics: 8/10 Gameplay, like all Sonic games and most of the video games on earth HAVE to have, has to be good. The gameplay in this game is a mixed shell. Sonic Heroes introduces a new type of gameplay that involves switching between three different characters. The character switch is triggered by a press of the button and is quite smooth but can be annoying switching back and forth all the time. Not to mention the game has too many enemies that it focuses mainly on combat then actual speed, which is something that Sonic is famous for. There are also nicely placed baddies whenever Sonic gains speed, so that can get annoying fast. Gameplay: 7/10 Music/Sound is great. The theme songs are great and the in-game music isn’t too bad. Not much to say here Music/Sound: 8/10 Replay value. One of the most important factors in the game. The replay value is okay. Getting all 7 Chaos Emeralds and getting all A on emblems won’t be too easy. And after that….well your done, but it will take a while let me tell you. Replay value: 8/10 Pros: New sonic game Metal Sonic Cons: Sloppy camera at times Team thing can make or break experience Overall Score: 8/10 - Kolorado |

| Guest Posts: n/a | I thought it was good but it wouldve been better if the teams as least took slightly different paths. I know that in-levels its different for each team but not really enough to ask you to do it 4 times over. I also wasnt too happy with the music compared to Sonic Adventure 1. There are a few memorable tunes but some of the level tunes seem like remixes from SA or SA2 and some just dont stand out. By the way I thought Rail Canyon was by far the best level. If you can jump the rails well then you blast through the level and its pretty exhilarating. [ March 16, 2004, 06:23 PM: Message edited by: Disco Stu ] |
