Sonic Adventure DX: Director's Cut.

A port of the Dreamcast game: Sonic Adventure. This game is really great in many places. Sometimes it's really frustrating (getting all the emblems is going to be a nightmare, and mission mode is no walk in Station Square). There are glitches, which apparently, Nintendo didn't really get out. However, they added not only the Mission mode to continue playing, but they added all the Game Gear Sonic games to it (At least I think so, seems like it, including the two Tails games).

THE STORY:

Sonic was just enjoying his in Station Square when he sees the police racing over. Sonic follows, and finds out a monster, Chaos 0, is attacking. Sonic defeats him, but Chaos 0 revived himself, and Eggman appears, yelling how Chaos is the god of destruction.. So it is up to Sonic and his friends to stop Chaos from getting any emeralds. So, in order to keep the game fresh, there are no spoilers!

The characters are Sonic (obviously), Tails, Knuckles, Amy, Big (A huge cat who fishes), and E-102 Gamma (A robot created by Eggman). The gameplay for Sonic is obviously racing through the level, destroying Eggman's robots. Tails is sort of like Sonic, except he has to beat Sonic to the end of the stage. Knuckles has to find three shards of the Master Emerald in each stage. Amy goes sort of like Sonic (not very fast, though) and must not be captured by ZERO (not very hard). Big has the most annoying levels of all: Fishing for Froggy. Then you have to fish for larger fish when redoing a level. E-102 Gamma goes through the level, shooting at everything (Boy, what was Sega thinking, eh?) and then free the E-100 series.

Now for the pros and cons.

+ Great 3-D playing.

+ Different game modes.

+ They added Game Gear games, making players want to get all 130 Emblems more.

+ A secret character is playable after getting all 130 emblems.

+ Getting to shoot everything as Gamma... heheh...

+ Some great music.

+ Chao are great to raise. Raising the different types like a Sonic Chao or a NiGHTS Chao, heh.

Cons:

- Some music can get annoying >.>

- UGH! The glitches in this game can make it hard to play at times!

- Fishing?!?! What was Sega smoking?!

- The characters' mouths move to the Japanese talking, rather then fixing it for English.

I'll edit this post if I come up with anything else.

Overall, this is a great game, ignoring the glitches. Something espically great at a lower price of $20.

Damn glitches, that's the first thing I noticed. I was in the first course as Sonic, and as soon as I fell through the floor, I said to myself, "Damn lazy Sega!"

The mouths in this game are REALLY messed up. Not only does it go with the japanese talking, but they just look plain wrong when they talk (especially Sonic's mouth. Remember the "WOOAHH"? *shudder*). If Sega wasn't as lazy, they could have fixed the mouths to be more like SA2, which worked alot better (even though both had the goes-with-Japanese problem).

Well, his voice in general...

Knuckles:

Amy:

Overuse of robot insults...

Gamma:

His monotone voice... bleh.

Big:

Must I mention him?

Still a great game, though.

Good review. As with Big,he's alright. Not good,but not bad. what I dislike about him most are...
A. Fishing. Why couldn't he do a platforming level?
B. His voice. Froggy sounds like,'Froogay'.

The voice actind needs inproved badly. As everyone here knows,in the first fight against Knuckles,whenever he gets hit he lets out an unemotional and casual 'Oh no.'.
Yeah,I remember the 'WOAAAH!'...

Voice acting is terrible, chao raising was better in SA2B and it was overall a better game.

Yeah, voice acting sucked. I switched to Japanese language so it'd be slightly better.

Plus, the 'cut scenes' are horribly slow paced.
Like when Sonic was about hit Gamma after his fight with him, it takes Amy at least 5-7 seconds to say "Stop, Sonic." Then she somehow stops him. In (VG) reality, Sonic would have torn him apart in less than 3 seconds.

You're probably going to want to get an Action Replay or something, as some of those emblems/missions are next to impossable... even though I got Sonic's A Casinopolis emblem and the one snowboarding mission... actually, you know what, I don't know know if there's a bunch of hard ones left... And I actually got Sonic Triple Trouble, heh. (112, I believe, now)

Bah. I already got Sonic A on Casinopolis. [img]tongue.gif[/img] Was actually a bit easy. Just need to be in the dump area and back track, collecting the containers of 10 rings until you land 400.

Whoh, 126 o_O I actually had 113, now I'm up to 126... just two more of Big's things and two of the Chao Races, and I'll have all 130! Woo!

129 here. I only have Bigs "2000 gram fish one in Twinkle Park." ....And that is near impossible.

Oh, and I have one mission left, which is Sonic's "3 rings at ski slope." Can't find them at all.

I got those two already, heh. For Big... did you get ALL the lure upgrades? If you didn't, check a FAQ. You may of missed the one in the jungle. Once you get them all, go back for it. Go for Metal Fish. Also, even if there's nothing, go fish for one, and more should come.

Still need the two Chao ones. I either need to get a Power Chao's Run up, or my Sonic Chao's Power up.

Sadly, he's only usable in trial mode.

And I beat all his trial missions, too.

You mean you redid every single level with him?

I can't believe how hard it is to get a good Chao raised for the Chao races, even after I bought Sonic Adventure 2: Battle, because luckily, I also have the GBA cable.

Hmmm... maybe I should do a lot of raising by downloading the Tiny Chao Garden from SA2:B, have the Sonic Chao in it, keep raising its power via that way.
