Manhunt

Rockstar Games are currently working on what looks like a pretty disturbing game called Manhunt.

The plot: James Earl Cash, a man on death row, is taken out and brought back to life by a man who he only knows as The Director. He has been moved to Carcer City, a small town that The Director has filled with psychotic killers and gangs that are all out to get him. The Director has put cameras all over the city so that he can watch, for his own amusement, how Cash fares.

This is supposed to be a very scary and very violent game. I don't know what to think about it yet. Maybe Rockstar has gone over the line, but I have to admit that the preview looks quite good, however sick that may sound. The thing that intrigues me, however, is not the violence, but the scary ambience that it's supposed to have. The only game that has ever managed to truly scare me so far has been Silent Hill 1, and I've always been looking for a game that can do the same. It's not a jump scare like you would get in Resident Evil, but the ambience is just terrifying. There's the music, your monster-detecting radio going off, monsters' cries in the background... If Manhunt can match Silent Hill 1 in ambience or even better it, then I might get this.

You know how you live in your house, feel quiet and protected? I see what this is... It's a mans worst fear alone... People wanting to kill him, no shelter over your head, someone watching you... It's to experince your own fears, face them, and conquer.

I plan on buying this... I HOPE...

They should've just made it a spin off: Liberty City Survivor.
