I'd have to say some of the coolest were from Skies of Arcadia. Silver Eclipse, Silver Binds, and Silver Tundra were very fun moves to watch, but you wouldn't want to be on the wrong end of them. It's strange that Silver Eclipse hit for more than Silver Tundra and Silver Binds did. If you got Ramirez to use Silver Binds or Silver Tundra, you'd wonder too...I'm wondering how Aika was even standing after Silver Tundra. |

Near the end of FF8, that's the only attack I would use, heh. Lion Heart + Invincible Moon = Win It's like an even cooler version of Omnislash. A lot of the summons in FF8 were awesome, too. So, FF7's Super Nova and SMRPG's attacks come to mind. In terms of cool attack names, I'm thinking Shockwave Pulsar (FF8), Blade Storm + Lightning Bolt => Tempest (ToP), etc. |

Being who I am, some of my favorites fall in the 'WTF' category. From 'Rhapsody', we have 'Pancakes'. Yeah. Drop giant pancakes all over the battlefield. With butter on. Out of Shining Force II, there's 'Bolt 3' which is the most awesomely huge-area'd spell evar, and 'Kiwi belched out a stream of flames!'... which is kinda self-explanatory. From Grandia II, there's Tio's 'Chrysanthemum' and 'Death Dance' special moves (don't recall if that's precisely what they're called, but they are *very* fun). Pokemon has the eternally-amusing concept of 'Dragon Dance'. Valkyrie Profile has the hugest sprite EVAR doing 'Dread Dragon', nifty slashy stabbity doom in the ultimate 'Nibelung Valesti', and just plain coolness in 'Senko-Jin'. Tales of Symphonia has the fun 'Pow Slash', where you attack with dual squeaky-hammers.... Of course, returning to Shining Force II, sometimes a confused character will 'Perform a Judo Throw'. Or in Shining in the Darkness, they'll occasionally bust out with 'Breakdances wildly' when confused. For sheer DOOM, it's hard to beat a FFT Calculate-Flare or Calculate-Holy attack... ...except with KABOOM from Grandia II. More later. ^_^ |

Hurtmore - Dragon Warrior I was thinking of making an RPG where you could use these spells as spellcards (i.e. one-use items). It's nice to know what people think are the spell from their favourite games. ^.^() |

Oh, another awesome attack from FF8 - Devour! Heh. Dammit, I need to play FF8 again. From FF6, Bum Rush and Quadra Slam are fun. As is simply using the Atma Weapon, heh. -jay |

Oh, and for quick work of Red Nu Spekkio at low levels, Omega Flare is the attack of choice. And it looks so damn awesome. I also like the sound effect that plays during Delta Storm. And the Ice spells in CT are awesome (watching Marle shake her ass while she's casting it... weird). -CSM |

My favourite attack in an RPG is Overlord's Wrath, from 'Disgaea'. Not that it's all-powerful or anything; I just think it looks hard as nails. I especially like Laharl's battle-cry--"Bite the dust!". Great stuff. | |

Nothing is funnier than a game of Rock-Paper-Scissors to a giant boulder attack. Speaking of Rock... I actually can't think of any Quest 64 spells that were plain out awesome(which is ironic, since it's one of my top favorite rpgs of all time), but that's probably because few of the spells looked that awesome. Dragon Warrior Monsters has some nice looking spells. BoltSlash and Lightning look equally sweet, as does Blizzard/WhiteAir/whatever-the-third-one-was. Then there's Golden Sun. All of the spells look great...although sometimes the pixalation looks terrible, but I digress. |

Also, it has lead me to this question that I have not yet found an answer for: What does the 'CC' in 'CC PLZ' stand for? I've been gaming for more than a couple years now, and I've never seen that anywhere else... |
