Balthier, in my opinion, is one of only two noteworthy characters in FFXII (Basch being the other). If you need me to tell you why I think Balthier is awesome, then obviously you don't know Balthier.

Though, I think he's been CotW before. But it doesn't matter, he should be Character of the Universe or something, he is that awesome.

Balthier is pretty much the fan-favourite of this game. (Though I personally liked Penelo just because she was probably the best mage)

It's really a shame that Guns in Final Fantasy games tend to suck unless they have a blade at the end, he was actually pretty good with a gun.

Meh, I always found him to be an average character, kind of like Cid was in VII. I found Mustadio and the gunners in Tactics Advance to be better. (Stopshot is overpowered, and if you take the time to give them Ultima weapon, then they're definitely a force to be reckoned with)

...but in terms of usefulness, Balthier kind of goes down low with a gunner without Stopshot or Mustadio without Knight skills. Most of that's because guns are weak. (But they ignore armour, don't they? That's probably an attempt to balance them out, but why does a freaking STICK hurt more? >.<)
