Geno is definitely a powerful character. Geno Whirl and Geno Flash/Blast made SMRPG easier, and his speed makes him nearly unstoppable.

Design-wise he's one of the coolest of Nintendo IMO.

Geno can fire a large laser out of his arm. That alone makes him awesome.

EDIT-Oh, and unlike Astro Boy, who can also fire a laser out of his arm, he is not a pedophile's dream.
