From CT, I'd say I like Schala as the best female character. But Lucca is cool but needs to lose the helmet, or get a less bulky one.

Are there any new anime cut-scenes?

And after doing my first New Game + I found a neat little trick that got me Magus's bestiary data while...

still allowing me to recruit him. I posted it on gamefaqs, but what they hey?

This MUST be on a New Game +

1. After clearing the Blackbird, save just outside the North Peak.
2. Enter and talk to Magus.
3. Defeat him. Do not save.
4. Immediately go to the Epoch. Watch the Black Omen rise and go to the End of Time.
5. Use the Bucket to defeat Lavos (and get ending #2 in the process).
6. After the credits, save your game when prompted and use the option to return to the title screen. Load up your save file.
7. Tah-dah!

Steps 2-5 must be done without saving in-game. Because of the way the game mechanics work., when you save after beating the game you are brought back to the last in-game save point you saved at. This will net you the data, but the game will be reset to the point that you never actually killed Magus.

Now I want to see if it'll allow you to get multiple copies of items. Nu-Spekkio and your plethora of stat-boosting tabs, I'm looking at you. It's just a matter of building my levels to 99 so I can fight him...

Lv. 99 is easy to obtain. Just fight at the place where you kill Magus' mom, the very entrance. I dunno if that is the best place to grind, but it worked well for me.

I remember looking up info about another CT game that was like a point & click adventure or something. Anyone know wtf I am talking about? That'd be a great bonus for a future CC release. These games are already made, why hide them?

The Dalton scene is cute, but seems too contrived to me so that it fits in with their nonsensical Porre defeats Gaurdia thing from CC.

I like that they made the final boss the Devourer/Schala combo, but the whole Magus thing just doesn't work for me. He doesn't even sound right. Plus any Magus/Guile connections are still way too blurry. They left too much out of CC to connect the dots and they didn't add enough here.

The simple fact that they removed Frog's accent is enough for me not to bother playing through this game.

The removal of Frog's accent isn't that bad, actually. He still speaks in a very formal manner. I was expecting to hate it, but it's really a decent substitute.

You have to admit, though, it made less sense for him to have it in the first place. No one else from that time period talked like that. Not even Cyrus, IIRC.

Glenn didn't have the accent? Then it actually makes more sense now if you think about it. I am probably reading too deeply into the character, but if Glenn didn't have an accent untill he became Frog, then maybe that's why he became Frog. Perhaps to reflect his outter changes, he took up an accent and changed his name.

Or Square screwed up and forgot to give Glenn the accent. Whatever.
