Maybe if I'd seen it in context or played any of the game at all, I'd feel different--as it stands, I savour the thought of someone walking up behind Tidus in the middle of his third big fake stupid laugh and punching him right in the kidneys. It's nothing I can help. |

That scene is just...*shivers* There are many redeeming factors to the game, however...like Auron. And Lulu. Oh yeah... |

But I could have looked back on it thinking it was worth it if the ending was any good. Turns out I got the crappy ending cause I didn't get 100%. That game was a little bitch for doing that to me. |

Which is a shame, because the supporting cast (Baralai, Gippal, Nooj, Paine) actually had interesting backstories, and definitely the potential to make a good, cohesive game. But they focused on Yuna and the contrived premise of her connection with Lenne/Shuyin. I would have totally rather they made a new game with Paine and co. - that would have been awesome. |

FF9 was a great game, it is my second favorite FF and I don't know why everyone bashes it. I thoroughly enjoyed it. FF8 was ****ing boring. Jesus christ, that was just the most boring game. SO MUCH TALKING, and you HAVE to read it. The magic system sucked. Randomly switching you to three other guys that sucked and did nothing but walk around sucked. Maybe they could remake it without it being so boring, idk. |

Thing is, Square proved with FF7 that it can't tell the difference between expanding and bastardising something. =/ FF8 had good characters (Squall and Seifer were probably one of the best FF rivalries) and great graphics. The gameplay is love/hate. I loved it. Graphics were great, story was enjoyable (talking = story) and even the music was good. Oh, and FF9 gets bitched at for a number of reasons but I loved it. Well, except the blue mage thing. |

Although I have to wonder how they COULD be continued. I mean doesn't Square-Enix like to usually end most of their games with little to no room for a sequel? How can you make a sequel to Final Fantasy IV? "Oh noes! ZEROMUS RETURNS!" What about Final fantasy 3? "Oh noes the balance is off again! Time to throw out another Necron!" or Final Fantasy 9? "Hi, I am Necron, and I am back. Fear leads to anger, anger leads to-" Yoda: Shut up Necron that's my line! | |

See, 8 and 9 both qualify easily for a sequel. Then you see games like FF1 that would be hard to make a sequel for. |

Anywho, I say cut it out with the damn sequels. If the original game was good, then I say leave it be. Next thing Square will be releasing a Final Fantasy VII: Special Edition, where he replaces digitally replaces Vincent Valentine with Hayden Christensen. |
