Similar to the anticlimactic boss fights, what about the boss fights that are just ANNOYING For one reason or another? Either because they just refuse to die, keep using cheap tactics, or repeatedly futz you up. Despite that it was a challenge, the Fell Arms boss Duke in TAles of Vesperia was annoying at times. The second form will use Big Bang maybe once or twice. His third form will use Big Bang around seven or eight. Then he will use Brave Vesperia which will practically destroy anyone who's nearby (Except for an extremely high HP Karol). He's like Miktran crossed with Schwartz. On the subject of annoying bosses, let's also mention Alexei! I've never seen anyone use their mystic artes four times! Even Van wouldn't and he loved pulling mystic artes out of his ass when I can't get away. >.< The last Tales of boss I'll mention is Schwartz. Definitely a rather difficult boss fight, that's for sure. Didn't make you feel cheated by making her about as easy as Nerifes was, but she also could practically one-hit KO you. I had to use numerous life bottles and elixirs because she loved to pick on Shirley. But of course I was about as cheap to her as she was to me. Senel was hitting for thousands of damage and I shaved off nearly half her health with a simple climax combo. And of course, it was Shirley's one sole chance to shine. SUCK ON TIDAL WAVE, SCHWARTZ!!!!!! And now I will talk about other bosses! I believe the l33t four back in Red, Blue, and yellow don't need any mention. Thanks to the computer cheating and them being able to pull full restores out of their asses. The later pokemon games are much better at the full-restoring. If I recall, they only have a finite amount. And Deathevn...oh Deathevn. Depending on how much you like or hate me you easily fit into "most annoying". Sometimes I'm lucky with him and he only uses that "By god's power!" once or twice, but other times I'm unlucky and he spams it EVERY BLOODY ROUND!!!!! FFFF. (And guess what? I don't happen to have the MP restoring items outside of white fruit!) Yunalesca and Seymour...I don't know anyone who beat Yunalesca on their first try. FFFF how on earth were you going to think of letting someone remain as a zombie? And Seymour just because it's bloody seymour. Except for Seymour Omnis. Also, in before Velius/Belias. Who remembers coming in with a party of level 50 adventurers only to find that he winds up stopping every single one of them in their path and then the demons rape them with dark holy? I made sure in Lion War to spread out and wreck that bastard as much as possible. Final Square-Enix mention...Ursula. Did I mention that the world was already hell enough? And now time to mention an obscure RPG most of you never heard of...Magi Nation. Screw you Zet and your Insta-kill Cunning Blow! |

From Legend of Legaia, Songi partly because he tends to either have backup, an annoying spells that hits the whole party, the real pain though is taking him on One on one. The last two I'd like to nominate are from Final Fantasy VI/6 they would be Wrecksoul, and Magimaster. Magimaster simpaly because of his fairwell gift and the end of the fight,(as if the treckup the damn tower wasn't bad enough.) Next Wrecksoul simpaly because of the Russian Rulette tactick that he uses to weaken your party while is two flunkies are just there to drain your MP. - You stupid dog! |

I'm not the type to classify myself as hardcore, yet I always felt that the vanish doom exploit was cheap didn't feel that rewarding either. - You stupid dog! |

I'll be damned, then again there were a few WOB monsters that you could one hit kill with Break so I shouldn't be too surprized. Back on topic, I was always annoyed by the fight with the cala Brella, though that was mostly because of the ambush boss fight right afterword.. Like I said not a hardcore gamer yet there are few bosses in the games I've played that tend to drive me up a wall. - You stupid dog! |

Yeesh as if that part of the game wasn't bad enough, Trapdoors every doorway and then you have to face the Evil Wall! As for Odin I didn't challeng him I opted to go to the moon instead. Speaking of summon fights though unless you learn the trick to it the fight with Asura is really annoying. Once again in FFVI even knowing how to fight them I still don't like dealing with the Dream Stoodges, the one boss in this game that truely drive me nucking futs would be final tier of Kefka's tower before you fight Kefka himself, I think it's called The Girl and Sleep but I haven't played six in a while so that's probly incorrect. - You stupid dog! |

You can avoid it with Vanish though (because it's physical) (and it's easier to apply than Life 3 because of Phantom). -CSM |

Gender: Posts: 9,544 Thanks: 175 Thanked 150 Times in 120 Posts | From Paper Mario the Thosend Year Door I hate fighting Cortez mostly because of all the stages involvedin that fight. I think my problem is I alwasy want to go after Sleep first because he always throws the nastier attacks at you, when I final learned that you had to take out the Grilf first I threw a rather impressiv fit. Odd as it is as hard as deafting him is I LOVE to grind Atama Weapon into powder, eh must be out of spite for all the times he used to trounce me back when I played FFVI on the SNES. - You stupid dog! |

A quick question am I the only person who finds multi stage battles annoying? I know they add alot ofchallengeand can be very fitting especily in final boss fights but after around four stages the charmwears off with me. - You stupid dog! |

When it's like Legend of Dragoon and takes like an hour and a half to beat as Joker put it, "That evolving bastard at the end", then it gets annoying. Even at level 60 it takes awhile to kill that stupid thing. Then when we get to Yunalesca...*kicks something* If it wasn't a multistage battle with the dreaded Megadeath coming rather late (And when she STILL has the chance to use it throughout her third form) then I don't think she would have bothered me or my friends as much. It's either she kills you with healing spells or Megadeath. I just like to customize ID immunity onto Yuna's armor that has Zombie immunity, and I'm good to go. -CSM |

This doesn't apply as much to bosses that just have weak enemies with them, like Kvar. |
