You walk for a while and pass by mostly rundown slums. The neighborhood is a mix of a few cheap residentials, brothels, gambling dens, and what look to be drug hubs. Nobody seems to want to mess with you, though, especially not before the sun goes down.

You reach an intersection. To your right, more of the same. Ahead it gets into some nicer residential areas, and the left seems to lead into a small merchant's quarter. It's not too big a city, so you've seen more impressive ones, but there are a decent number of shops and taverns, so you might be able to garner some information down that way. Do what?

Check a tavern down the road

Alright. You walk into the commerical-ish quarter and enter the first tavern you see. It's beginning to fill up, and you're just one of many people coming in. Nobody gives you a second glance.

Several people are here already, but only a couple look truly inebriated. Most look as though it's just their first drink of the night. The bartender's hard at work, doing what bartenders do. A few serving wenches are walking around, delivering orders. There are several empty tables, a full one, and a few that are populated but still have empty chairs.

Do what?
