You and Catori leave the lounge and head towards the gates.
Catori: Blah, once we get to the gates we will need to pass a stupid test. Part of the clubs plan to "protect" us from the monsters outside. They aren't even that tough unless you're totally swarmed by them anyway.
You make it to the gates and look around. The guard is lying on the floor and his body is blackened. You both stare at him a bit, then Catori turns to you.
Catori:So... Think we should help him or something?

You look around and find a potion lying on the ground a few feet away. You go over to him and give him the potion. After a while the guard gets up off the ground.
Guard: Uhh... thanks. Why are you here by the way?
Catori: Same reason any one else comes here... To get out of this place for a while.
Guard: Oh, then in that case you'll need to fight me as part of a test and-
Catori: Then you would be knocked out untill someone nice enough decided to help you. Can't we just go through?
Guard: I'll probably get in trouble for this, but you can go through without taking the test I guess.

You both walk through the gates and head out into the field. After a (very) short time Catori stops.
Catori: Umm... wait... Kirin? Do you remember which way we were supposed to go? My memory is pretty bad...

You head east for several hours without much happening. Eventually you stop at a river along the way.

Catori: Ah, right... this is the Aisett river. I kinda forgot about it. Any suggestions on how to get across?

OoC: Yeah... Maybe "Pretty far away" was an understatement. It'd probably be faster just swimming across it or something.

You go far out of your way to get to the bridge and go past it. Then you go all the way back to where you were before basically. Then after a few more hours you make it to the town.
As you walk in you notice a few things... Quite a few areas in shambles and the town pretty much completely deserted... except for a bunch of tough looking guys standing over a bunch of people lying on the ground.
Theyapparently notice you two as you walk into the town. The chattering between them and then two thieves rushing towards you makes it far more obvious.

Fight
Kirin- HP:600 /MP:200
Catori- HP:250 /MP:550
Vs
Theif x2- HP:500 /MP:0

Battle Order- You, Theives, Catori.
Battlefield- A pretty beat up town. There are a bunch of buildings, so you could hide in the alleyways of them, or possibly get onto a roof if you find a way. Oh, and behind the thieves there are maybe 5 more people willing to beat you up if things look bad.

You run into an alley way.
One thief chases after you and throws a knife at you for 15 damage. The other thief attacks Catori for 0 damage.
Catori casts Avatar on Thief B. Thief B is charmed, and has attack doubled.

Catori- HP:250 / MP:250
Thief- HP:500 / MP:0. Atk x2 + Charm. 3 turns.
