The Pokeball sucks the Sentret in, causing it a bit of shock, although it is too weak to fight it . . .

In the first knoll of tall grass, William had caught his first wild Pokemon! it looked weak and stricken with paralysis however, it wouldn't last long in a battle. he could head back to Prof. Elm to heal it, or leave it for now and head forward to Cherrygrove.

William makes his way through the grassy patches that stand between him and Cherrygrove, looking around and even jumping once or twice as one or so creatures seem to brush his leg, but in the end, everything just seems to ignore him. About the time the sun was hanging so low in the sky its edge touched the horizon, William made it back to Cherrygrove. His first stop was the Pokemon Center, eager to get his Pokemon healed.

"You're Pokemon are fully healed! Thank you for using our Pokemon Center!" the nurse behind the counter chirped happily, shooting William the brightest smile she could.

As William turned he noticed quite a few people coming in for the night, there was a older gentlemen, who actually was lounging with a newspaper, a small, puppy-sized Growlithe at his feet, snoozing softly. Another girl in the corner, playing with what looked to be Pokemon cards, and a boy near her, playing with what seemed to be a Gameboy Advanced . . .

The same options remained for William as well, outside of the center, to go to the PokeMart, enter the house in the corner, travel back east on route 29, or head north on route 30.

Put Sentret in the lead to train it some. Then head north to continue with the errand.

As William heads north on Route 30, he notices the path suddenly splits, one to the East, and one to the West, and in the center, a rather humble little house with a bizarre looking . . . plant, growing in front of it.

The path to the West seemed filled with trainers, it would be hard to get by the all unless he would battle them, the path to the East seemed rather clear, except, of course, for the long grass standing in his way.

As William walked onward down the eastern path, he shivered in the cold night as the long grass tickled his legs, like little dull blades scraping his limbs. A hiss and squeak took him out of his dreamstate as a rather angry little vermin jumped out, hissing and biting the air, tail wagging behind it!

Sentret LV3 (HP: 16/16) VS Rattata LV4 (HP: 16/16)

Rattata moved quickly, its little legs pushing it to move first, jumping out in front of Sentret, flicking up its backside and wagging its tail hypnotically, successfully getting Sentret's attention, it dropping its guard.

Sentret's Defense was lowered!

Sentret growled as it wobbled back and forth on its tail, before finally ramming forward raking its claws against Rattata's face, causing 4 points of damage! (HP: 12/14)

Rattata growls loudly as its scratched, rasing its abckside again and wagging its tail, again successfully distracted the little Sentret!

Sentret's defense fell!

Sentret wobbled again and lashed forward, again raking claws agains Rattata for another 4 points of damage! (8/16)

Rattata still seemed to be trying to lower Sentret's defenses, again making the little creature's eyes follow its wagging tail!

Sentret's Defense was lowered again! (-3 Defense)

Sentret wobbled once more, and suddenly lashed forward with all its might, actually knocking itself off from its tail and landing, quite shocked on its little feet. Sentret scored a Critical hit for 8 points of damage!

the Rattata squeaked in fright at the attack and fainted in the tall grass, William left, slightly confused, holding a Pokeball with no target left to throw it at. Sentret, however, looked lost in total joy, hopping and bouncing on its little feet, before leaping back up onto its tail, it was obvious it had grown stronger!

Sentret leveled up! Sentret LV4 HP: 18/18! Sentret started to jump and squeak, before it suddenly began to roll its body into a tight little ball, a move that obvious provoked defense! Sentret learned Defense Curl (40/40)!

Although his prize had been knocked out, his Sentret was gleeful in its success. now he could either keep going forward through the long pathway of tall grass, or head back, either moving up the other path, back to the city, or into the small, strange house with the weird plant in front.

William continued down his long path, still cold and a little scared at night. He had been walking for about a half hour not seeing any pokemon at all and not being disrupted. His sentret started to shiver as he's reminded that he forgot to put it back in its ball.

"Sentret, Return now." he says as sentret goes back into its pokeball.

"You know, that sentret would be a lot tougher if its owner was not an idiot."

"Whos there?" William cried out in frustration.

"The names Jack. You seem like a weak trainer to me. Weak enough for me to beat and then head in for the night. What do you say?

Battle Jack, or Run away continuing down your path?

"You've made a big mistake, but that's alright, just means an easy win for me. Prepare to be hacked!" the man stood forward, wearing glasses and a wide smirk, a labcoat with a flared collar, the edges of his coat flared out as well, giving him a suspicious look . . . did he say Hacker?

Master Hacker Jack wants to battle!

"Watch out! Go! Voltorb!"

At first, as the Pokemon was sent free from its Pokeball, William could not be sure anything had even happened, whatever he had called just looked like another Pokeball . . .

before William could even react, the strange orb was moving, spiraling forward with incredible speed, "that's it, Voltorb! Get ready with your Charge!" The orb turned, and William could see its angry eye, as it started to buzz and shudder, sparks of electricity shooting across its form and then sucking back into itself . . .

Sentret bounced on its tail, before lashing forward with a squeak of excitement, rkaing its claws against Voltorb's hard shell, for 4 points of damage! (HP: 13/17)

"Blast! Don't let it deter you, Voltorb! Charge again!" Voltorb buzzed as it body began to glow, sparks flying across its circular body, storing electric energy.

Sentret rammed itself forward, claws first, still wobbling on its long tail, as it delivered another hit of 4 points! (HP: 9/17)

"Enough storing power, Voltorb! Tackle, go!" Voltorb buzzed loudly as it rolled forward, only the grass seemed to make it start to pitch back and forth, its eyes closing as it buzzed an error sound loudly, and rolled pathetically to the side, completely missing Sentret! "Oh no! Voltorb! How could I miss?!" Jack yelled in anger.

Sentret hops forward and slahes its claws against Voltorb, it bussing angrily as its forced to take another 4 points of damage. (HP: 5/17)

"Voltorb! Focus! Use another Tackle!" Jack yells, the Voltorb buzzing and whirling against the ground, kicking up dirst as this time Sentret has no where to go, before its knocked hard in the stomach, making it skid back on its tailtip, 3 damage delivered! (HP: 15/18)

Sentret moved again, waving back and forth on the stem of its tail, like a pendulum before slamming forward and scratching at Voltorb again, another 4 points of damage lost. (HP: 1/17)

"Voltorb! No! Charge up!" Jack cries out in desperation, as Voltorb's body flashed and flickered, taking in powerful electrical energy.

Senret saw its opporunity and scratched and slashed at Voltorb once more, making it buzz in error before its buzzing grew dim, laying there, fainted! "Voltorb! No! Grrrr! This isn't over! Voltorb return!"

Sentret started to bounce gleefully, it again seemed stronger, as its body seemed to be just a hair bigger, and its movements a little quicker.

Sentret leveled up! LV5 HP: 17/20

"Grimer! Go! Wear him down with your posion!" Jack laughes, throwing the next Pokeball. However, with all the commotion, William has a chance to call Sentret back if he wanted to switch Pokemon . . .
