| Guest | Hello there, you may remember me from a while ago...I'm back and ready to get back into the action. Here's a new role play of mine, set in the Star Wars galaxy, one year after "The Empire Strikes Back" and before "The Return of the Jedi"...It's a open RP, join in! -------------------------------------------------- Mission 01 - Raid on Taloraan It was a rather quiet day on the surface of Taloraan, the skies undisturbed...but outside the atmosphere... There was a sudden flash of light, a single Y-Wing with red and black markings on the ****pit just jumping out of a hyperdrive warp. Several seconds later two more Y-Wings jumped out, both with red markings, but didn't have the black markings like the first one did. "Delta Leader to Delta Group, check in." Erik looked around outside the canopy glass, staring at the planet below. The gas clouds were highly visible, the planet was beautiful from afar...But the Imperials owned it. "Delta 2 here, I'm fine." Erik looked back, the pilot's name was Ian. Not a good fighter pilot, but he was a fine bomber. "Delta 4 here, waiting for our X-Wings..." He smiled, it was his friend Meg. She was rather good in the Y-Wing. "Affirmative, Compy, check for a path to the target undetected." The R4 started to chart out a path, the chirps it was making giving Erik the impression that it was content with it's duty. Another minute passed and two X-Wings dropped out of hyperdrive. Erik got back on the comm. "X Jockies, check in please." "Delta 3 here." Erik had another grin on his face, it was his closest friend Kendra. She flew a X-Wing and was the best dogfighter in the squadron. He'd trust her with his life. "Delta 1 checking in." It was Dan, a friend of his; but he wasn't the best, he was still wet behind the ears... "Right...The mission is a bombing run on a floating platform with tibanna gas containers...Y-Wings will go in, X-Wings fly cover and watch for interceptors." The rest of the squadron replied with different expressions, the R5-D4 unit presenting the flight path to Erik. "Alright, follow me in Delta Squadron...Let's make a name for ourselves..." He pushed down on the control stick, the Y-Wing making a gentle dive for the surface, followed by the other Y-Wings right behind him and the X-Wings flying above... "Good luck guys..." Compy let out a little cheerful whistle, Erik hoping the R5 understood what it was up against... ![]() |

| Guest | The squadron started skimming the clouds, the imperials never knew they were coming. "Target is up ahead, Y-Wings prepare for bombing run!" Erik looked back, his two fellow Y-Wing pilots right behind him, the X-Wings flying above. "...Erik, my astromech is picking up interference..." Meg looked down at her controls, the captured R5M9 plugged into her Y-Wing making odd sounds. "Affirmative, X Jockies, keep a look out for them." One of the cities above the clouds came into view, their target. "Team, contentrate your fire on the platform in the center, that's were the majority of their resources are!" The three Y-Wings made their appoach, heading straight through the many floating stations. "...Lock up..." Erik had turned on his targeting computer, the yellow crosshairs locking right on several of the gas containers. "Drop bombs on my mark..." He heard a beep signalling that the other two had locked on." "...Release!" They flew right over the platform, Erik releasing five of his bombs before flying past it. He looked back long enough to know they hit. "There we go." Meg smiled, her bombs had blown a good chunk of the platform off, sending it falling down into the void below. "Alright guys, make a second pass." Meg looked to her leader, nodding even though she knew he couldn't see her...He was a good friend, he had been a mentor to her when she was training to fly...He was like a big brother. Meanwhile, the two X-Wings were flying high above the attacking Y-Wings, orbiting around the platform. "Kendra, do you think we'll get any action? I'm tired of escorting these pigs around." "Nah, it's just a simple bombing run, we'll get out before they notice us." "Damn." Kendra let out a groan. She wasn't in any hurry to find a enemy to fight, Dan was biting at the bit to take a TIE fighter down. "Wait..." Kendra's R2-D2 unit Chaz made a shrill chirp. Looking around her she saw it through the clouds... "There's one!" It passed through the clouds like a phantom, Dan never even getting a chance to see it. "How many?" "I think it's a single, I'm gonna check to see if there's a trailer..." "Careful, Kendra..." Dan was worried, she was a close friend and he didn't want her to get hurt. "I'm engaging..." Kendra flew right behind the figure, speeding up, then slowed down as she saw it was a TIE Interceptor. "It's a single, unaware..." She didn't finish her sentence. Green beams started passing by, Kendra knowing what it was... "Ambush! I got one on me Dan, help!" He shook his head, pulling up to where she was at, not noticing that the one she was stalking had gotten away with a partner... The Y-Wings made their second run, the platfrom falling apart, most if not all the gas containers blown apart. "Look out!" Erik looked back, Ian's Y-Wing flying past. He was startled, if not completely shocked by the time a TIE fighter flew after him. "Get away from him Ian!" He shuddered as the TIE started firing, he knew his wingmate had no chance. "Meg, anymore?" He watched Ian make a dive to the ground. The fighter behind him scored plenty of hits, the Y-Wing gracefully falling out of the sky before it exploded in a fireball. "I dunno...We lost Delta 2..." Erik looked over, checking to make sure she was safe. "There's the one that shot Ian down, he's in front, cover me Meg..." He made a gentle swoop, right behind the TIE. "Erik, you got a clear shot at him..." She looked behind her, another TIE flying out of the clouds, and right behind her. "Oh, damn..." ![]() |
