I don't want to use EBay or any online service this time because I'm at college and I don't have an account. What stores do you know that have a copy of it? Did they stop making them? -CSM |

I highly doubt you'll be able to find 1 or 2 in any store, but 3 should be everywhere. It's one of the PS2's "Greatest Hits" collection. They should have some at Game Crazy or any other game store. |

I want to get 1, since it's an SNES RPG. But do they even have an official English version or just fan-translated ROMs? -CSM |

| Gunjinkeeper | I actually recently found 2 in a PS2 bargain bin at a local Game-Stop here in Mississippi, and I've seen 1 as a cartridge at the same store. I didn't have the money to buy both of them, though, so I settled for a nice old copy of Chrono Trigger. The point is: Look hard enough, and you'll find an English Star Ocean 1 out there somewhere. |

| Marshmallow Knight ☆ Supermod | I believe Star Ocean was for the SNES, and was never translated into English. (As a little note, this and Tales of Phantasia were the largest SNES games, topping 48 mbits, and include actual voice acting). I don't know if there are any translated ports, though. But I do know there exists a translation patch to the SNES ROM so you can play it on an emulator, if you're so inclined. |

Just download the ROM. If Galefore saw an actual cartridge, it was either a fake, a copy of the japanese game slapped into a US casing, or a prototype. I don't think it ever made it so far as an actual translation for the SNES, considering that I'm pretty sure it was released in Japan in '96. I would have gotten a legit looking cart of Star Ocean no matter how much it was - even if you had no intention of playing it, it could sell for hundreds on ebay. | Marshmallow Knight ☆ Supermod | Just as a little note, this game has been released three freaking times (original SNES, PS, and GBA), at least. Irregardless, it has never had an English port. The PS version has some spiffy anime cutscenes, though, as well as another party member. |
