Do you think there will ever be RPG's in the future as good as Chrono Trigger and Final Fantasy?

GBA is their last chance to make one. 3D RPGs are nowhere near the same as 2D ones... and I sure hope they do make one.

What are you talking about, the GBA is the last system where they have a chance to make a classic RPG? There are many good if not great RPG games coming out for GCN soon. Who knows, any of those can be counted as classics.

Yes there will be RPGs as good as CT and the FF series. The games will come as soon as designers stop looking so much for graphics and start adding a bit more back into gameplay and plot.

Now that I mention it the FF series has definately gone down-hill in latter years. FF9 wasn't bad and FF7 was pretty good, but I didn't think FF10 was that great and FF8 just plain sucked wind. The original FF games will always be the best. Old Skool forever!

It depends on your opinion. Some of us are a little biased...and yes, that includes me. PSIV and SFII forever.

Yes.

I have a theory that when you're younger (and more naive), your first good game become your favourite game because its the first time you've experienced the greatness that is a good RPG. Basically it's more nostalgia than its absolute ranking amoungst its peers. Maybe a new generation of gamers will grow up wondering if anything will better their games...

^ Actually I've only played FF1 and Chrono Trigger in the past couple of months. I beat 'em both of course but now they are 2 of my fav. games of all times.

OoT was my first good game and I still think it's the best in the Zelda series and is still one of my all time favs. as well.

What I've heard was rumors for an entirely new Chrono game, called Chrono Break. Just rumors.

^Yeah, I heard about that too. I also heard it was for Xbox, which immediately made me dismiss it.

If they make a new Chrono it will probably be for PS2.

Could be for both PS2 and CGN now that Square and Nintendo are back together... I hope that they forget Chrono Cross and make this one a DIRECT sequel of CT, with all the original charas and at max five new ones. Then maybe two of the coolest characters wouldn't be DEAD. Ah well, better a sequel of Chrono Cross than a crappy puzzler, like the title sorda sounds...

And I DON'T think anything could get better than Chrono Trigger.^_^()

There will most likely be an RPG better than Chrono Trigger, but it might not come for a long time.

Golden Sun was a good game, but its not anywhere near one of the greatest RPG's of all time.

^It had that annoying battle system flaw. That was the main problem.

^More challenging? The flaw I was talking about is defending instead of moving on to the next target. That's simply unforgiveable. It doesn't add challenge, because nothing's getting harder. Just more annoying.

And thanks to the Djinn, Golden Sun is one of the easiest RPGs I've ever played. Anyway, the next one should be better.
