Some RPGs draw heavily on myths; Greek, Roman, Norse, early Japanese, etc.

Ragnarok is the final battle in Norse mythology, where the gods and the giants meet for the final battle. Masamune, I believe, was a Japanese swordsmith who created legendary blades. And, of course, there's the Excalibur. All these names sound relatively cool, and add a new dimension to games.

And in FF games, there are common names, just as inside jokes.

So, long story short, yes. Things repeat.

Squaresoft makes the games so they have several repeating names of things. Don't worry about it.
