I found Yoshi to be a lot like Bow from the first PM. Against most normal enemies, he had one of the strongest normal attacks, causing six damage. But like Bow, once you atarted facing enemies with at least a 1 defense, he was pretty much useless with using FP. I never really used him much myself for that reason and the fact that other partners had more benefit to them (Koops had a 1 defense, Vivian could cause a burn, Bobbery he a higher HP count and had the same attack power)
