But even assuming that, this isn't your actual reasoning; if it were, your first reaction to any announcement of voice acting wouldn't be a loud cough and a rolling of the eyes. You wouldn't call it one of the scourges of modern gaming. It wouldn't worry you that Square is putting it into one cutscene of FFIV. Sometimes no comprendo. |

If you look at a game like, say, Oblivion, the voice acting in that game was phenominal, and it helped contribute to the entire game's awesomeness. |

You make it seem like voice acting in general is crap. If it can't make a game good, then how could it possibly make a game bad? It's not a one way street. |

Gender: Posts: 12,069 Thanks: 514 Thanked 852 Times in 582 Posts | I like voice acting, because I think it definitely adds another dimension to the characters. I think we should wait until we actually experience the game's voice acting before criticizing it. |

When you can't actually hear what a character sounds like, you get to decide what they sound like on your own, and it adds an element of abstraction to the game. -CSM |

But there can be some good voices on the DS...You can actually make out what they're saying in Tales of the Tempest, even IF everyone sounds like munchkins. (But blame Japanese voice actresses for that...) |

Honestly, can't fans have the right to imagine? I don't want voice imposition shoved down my throat. I want to decide what characters I like sound like. I don't want to hear "This is what character X sounds like, and you better like the voice, because we're paying someone MILLIONS to do this voice." I want my imagination and creativity back. Oh, and here's your trailer. -CSM | ||
