FFT:War of the Lions.

Is it me, or does this game suck?

Even the awesomeness of Balthier, can't save it.

^You'd rather have a game with Cloud in it than one with Balthier? For shame. -CSM

^ Cloud would make it suck even more. In fact I don't even think that Auron, Balthier, Lulu, Fran, Basch, Squall, Vicent, Yuffie, Zell, and Vivi could save this game.

Is it really that much worse than the original? Or do you just hate them both?

I liked the original, but I have no intention of getting a PSP, so I'll probably never play the remake.

Now why are all the RPGs going to the PSP? It's practically a lost cause.

I didn't realize it had already come out... I loved the original, so I'll probably pick this one up anyway.

Apparently they fixed the slowdown issues for the North American release. (The same website that was ****hing about it also said they did a craptacular port of Valkyrie Profile...I don't know what he's talking about, the only slowdowns where the voices would speak faster than the text or whenever I told my mage to cast "Heal")

I really hope they give Mustadio and Balthier some actual abilities. Remember how Mustadio had a whopping three moves? They can give him some moves from Final Fantasy Tactics Advance (Stopshot's most needed) otherwise he'll just be an equipment breaker before you get Meliadoul and Orlandu. Same with some balance issues. Oracles are even more worthless and pointless than Kimarhi while a bunch of lancers will rip through everything pre-Riovanes Hell Portal. (Because no matter how high level my characters were, Velius would always move first somehow and get Spell off when 4 of my characters haven't even moved.)

I've spent a little bit more time playing this since my last post on here. I'm giving it another day before I take it out.

How is it any different from the original?

I loved that version to death, and actually just replayed it.

FFTA failed. Hopefully FFTA2 won't, but I still get that nagging feeling.

But yes, how exactly is it any different?

If I had a PSP I might be interested in getting War of the Lions. I loved and own the original. Balthier is a secret character now I'm guessing? Sweet.

It's on a handheld. Has a few new items, and Balthier.

In my view FFTA is on the same level as this...I dunno. It could just be the style that I dislike.

So, there's voice acting in the US version. Here's a list of the actors.

- Ramza: Phil LaMarr (Reddas - Final Fantasy XII)
- Delita: Robin Atkin Downes (Genesis - Dirge of Cerberus, Luxord - Kingdom Hearts II)
- Ovelia: Kari Wahlgren (Shelke - Dirge of Cerberus, Ashe - Final Fantasy XII)
- Agrias: Hedy Burress (Yuna - Final Fantasy X/X-2/Kingdom Hearts II)
- Balthier: Gideon Emery (Balthier - Final Fantasy XII)
- Luso: Justin Cowden (Hayner - Kingdom Hearts II)

And here's a video:

Hedy Burress, though awful as Yuna, sounds actually very good as Agrias. Which is good, because Agrias is my favorite female character from this game.

That's how those FMVs in Final Fantasy Tactics should have been.

Though Ramza sounds a lot older than I imagined him, but part of it's the artstyle...Ramza, Delita, Ovelia, and pretty much everyone else except Agrais, Orlandu, Wiegraf, and the Vormav-trinity look like children.

^ur mom

Anyway, yeah. FFTA was alright, although I sort of dislike the FFT games as a whole. I may pick this up to see if I can enjoy it years after giving up on beating FFT.

I'd probably like it if I gave it a better chance. I gave up on it quickly so many years ago.

Unless they severely break the game or make the slowdowns as bad as they are in the Japanese version, I'll still like this game. I'm a big fan of Tactics Ogre (Which was made by many of the same people, should you actually find and play it you'll see the simularities)
