| Gunjinkeeper | I love how you guys live to argue. My opinion remains. If I am fooling myself, so be it. I personally think I am right, and for my own benefit, that is good enough. The fact that you even care is a bit strange to me. Besides, my opinion is a bit different from That Guy's. I think FFIX is the best 3D FF, but the others are fun to play as well. They're just not as sentimentally valuable as well as damned fun to me. |

I do have to say, I think it edges out IX by a little... but, still it's even been a while since I've played that. IX is just really nostalgic for me, it was the first I ever played, and then after playing the others I realized that intended to pay hommage to them all... very cool. ![]() |

Gender: Posts: 5,705 Thanks: 7 Thanked 176 Times in 116 Posts | I completely disapprove of the battle system from FFXII, as well as the lack of familiar (and useful) summons (No Bahamut, Leviathan, or Alexander? WTF?). The whole gambit thing and not being in full control of your characters did not really sit over too well with me. I have yet to actually finish the game because I disapprove of the battle system so much. Out of all the Final Fantasies I've played, X is probably my favorite, due in large part to the awesomeness that is Auron and that pointlessly addicting mini-game known as blitzball (sadly, I have yet to play FFIX). Although I do find myself muting the television every time that God-awful scene from the first post shows up. |

A lot of the FFans who liked the old games better (Eg the ones who prefer VI over everything else) tend to like IX better, whereas the ones who only like the new ones (They exist; there are some who tell others that there's really no point in playing the pre VII games, and yes I have heard some FFans IRL say that) think IX is the worst of the 3D games. To be honest, as nice as character customization is, they can easily render some characters worthless and they all wind up super-powerful. I thought it was a relief to see the old roles return. Although they still handle it well with Overdrives in X. The only reason I kept Lulu around (Despite the Aeons doing everything for her) was because her overdrive was pretty useful against elements. And Seymour Omnis. |

Although most of the people who think FFVII is their favorite game that I talk to think FFIX is the second best and FFVI and FFXII are the next best. The VII-VIII-X fans usually consider VIII or X to be the best one.-CSM |

I remember hearing that somewhere. |

(Although doesn't Amano also do the covers for XI sometimes or is it just a really good imitator?) Quote:
2) That's unusual; a lot of the people I talk to seem to who liked VII the most think it, X, and XII are the best. (Although there are still some who think VIII sucked while others think it ruled.) | |

(sephiroth is not cool you idiots) 8 really does need to die in a fire though. |

| Timelord. | ^ No you need to half die in a fire. Eight is great, apart from the whole memory lost bit. |

Last thing I remember is Cloud's crew escaping from Shadowlaw Headquarters (or whatever), with Cloud bringing up the rear, chopping up enemies while riding a motorbike, and then there's a boss encounter with a giant robot. Whereas in VIII, I quit before Squall even leaves Starfleet Academy (or whatever). So I'd say VII is better by default. __________________ Boo--the only dude bad enough to rescue the president Last edited by Booyakasha; 12-18-2007 at 02:35 PM. |
