I've never been so ashamed to sit through something all the way through in my life. I mean, is the rest of the game bad-ass enough to make up for the atrocious acting? I wanna play it but damn. The video in question: Last edited by Wyborn; 12-11-2007 at 06:09 PM.

If it weren't for that one scene, that ONE scene, I'd like FFX more than I do FFVII. Strangely, I have yet to hear Jay rant about this. -CSM |

| Gunjinkeeper | I agree that this game is embarrassing. I remember the scene where they're about to face Seymour for the first time, and Yuna says, almost laughably Captain Kirk-like, "I will fight you too!". I still hate this game's voice acting, save for Auron. He still rules. |

I mean, does that scene flow logically from preceding scenes, or is this more in the nature of a nonsequiter 'the writer fell over and hit his head on a rock' deal? __________________ Boo--beware, he lives |

Auron's voice acting pwns everyone elses in the entire series, save any Bangaa, Balthier, Basch, or the Imperials from FFXII. -CSM |

| Gunjinkeeper | I had forgotten that scene, but now have watched it again. I wish it would have stayed forgotten. ![]() Although, I still like the background music. Sort of brings back memories. |

HAH HAH HAH HAH HAH HAH HAH. That should be our thing, man: whenever we agree on something we should just do that.

| Gunjinkeeper | It certainly is quite the little... Twist. But not a surprising one. A disgusting one. And the other characters agreed with the notion that the writers died and were replaced by chimps. HA HA HA HA HA HA *hestantly stares at Yuna, Yuna joins* HA HA HA HA HA HA HA |

After that scene was when I wanted to stop. (Although it was mostly because of that mistake called the Sphere Grid) You can even see they were embarrassed in the game - at 2:15, Auron, Wakka, and Lulu are standing there going "wtf?". I just imagined them saying "oh god, I can't believe he is coming with us..." |

Which is a damn shame, because there are moments of Yuna/Tidus interaction I actually like, but the stupid game designers ****ed that up so bad. Lake scene - beautiful. Ending scene - touching. But for a FF game, I thought the ending was an interesting twist. And overall, I liked the battle system (I loved being able to switch characters in wherever) and level up system (dear lord, the sphere grid looks like gold compared to the license board). Overall though, I just don't have any strong feelings one way or the other about FFX. Which is why you don't see me ranting about it. FFX's story was cringe-worthy a lot of times, but it didn't go out of it's way to piss me off like FFXII did. Going off on a tangent for a moment...if only Square would make an RPG featuring a battle system combining the systems used in FFX and FFX-2. FFX-2 probably has the best battle system around, if it wasn't spoiled by the god-awful load times for switching jobs (why Square, why do you refuse to learn that people don't like seeing long summoning or casting scenes over and over again without the option of skipping them). -jay [Edit] Oh yeah, and my only problem with Larsa was that he should have just been cast as a girl, since that's what I thought he was for a good half of the game. |
