Alundra

Not that crappy Alundra 2 that had absolutely nothing to do with Alundra 1. I'm talking about Alundra, the elf who could walk into people's dreams and had very challenging puzzles. This is what needs to be brought back to life. It's a shame they shut the series down because of how unsuccessful Alundra 2 was, but that sucked anyway because it was incredibly cheesy. Like I'd love it if they made Alundra 3 a true sequel.

It's actually not in production anymore. It was a rarity for the playstation 1. I still have my copy though. Think of this game as "Link To The Past" but bigger and better with slightly better graphics. It is top-down as well. Many might call it a ripoff, I call it an improvement. Here's some vids to whet your appetite.

I ask myself why was this series never popular? Why did they have to ruin it with Alundra 2? Why not make a true sequel to Alundra? It would be soo awesome!

^I consider Zelda a RPG/Adventure or sorts.

Looks badass. Wish I could have played it: it doubt I will now, though.

It was localized by Working Designs; it's a good game by a good localizer.

I classify those games more along the lines of platformers.

But they do look pretty cool. Although I think I'll have nightmares playing that, considering that I've had nightmares about plenty of games, including good ones. -CSM

I suggest you guys play it by any means. This is the only game I can think of that could ever put the zelda series to shame. The only thing that irks me about the series is that Alundra 2 contains no reference to the first game. You don't even play as Alundra as him on Alundra 2. The plots are also completely different. The worlds are different. Everything, different. Yet they put the Alundra 2 label on it ruining the series for good.

Here's the distasteful Alundra 2 opening movie. Sadly this was when they switched to 3D graphics. Notice how he walks up the rope.

I could've done without the comedic acts of the pirates as well.
