First, Konami shuts down BoA. Next, Nintendo threatens to instigate suit against the guy who is making OOT2D. Now, we get this from Square-Enix.

Ugh, pisses me off so much. That means I pirate 200% more Nintendo and Square games than I used to.

Here's an idea Squeenix. Instead of stifling an obviously lucrative project for no reason, why not HIRE THEM?!?!?!

My heart is greatly saddened by this news, even though I never even knew about this fan game.

I must admit though, with the quality graphics I've seen, I'm surprised that they didn't go with something completely original, or at least something is that isn't overtly a 'copy'.

Yeah...just another reason Square has gone from suck to blow. (Adds to reasons why Square sucks list)

Reasons Square Sucks
--------------------
-Chrono Cross
-FFX-2 AKA Slutfest
-FFXI AKA 10 bucks a month to play with losers online
-LLLUUUCCCCCCAAA!!!
-Secret of Mana
-Killed cool looking non-profit CT remake

I'm sure there's more I forgot.

But yeah, seriously. Wasn't this a non-profit game they were developing? Sheesh. It's not like they were trying to make money off of it. Square is just lame.

But yeah, these programmers obviously knew this was comming sooner or later. Like someone else else, I don't see why they even bothered. The programmers obviouslly have a crap load of talent. They should be spending their time making a new damn game instead of making just a stupid fan game from Chrono Trigger. Then they won't get sued. Sheesh. So yeah, the programmers are idiots too.-jay

I recall Chrono Break being an alternate pre-production title of Chrono Cross.

Wow. Square has issues. Why don't they just go back to making good quality stuff like they had on the SNES?

Square has had the same people around for years. Why hire new people when you can just send the team already on the payroll? I think its some sort of hired for life sorta thing in Japan.

^ Well, I was only being partially serious. From the looks of the screenshots, it looked like there was some serious talent in that project; talent that should be worth considering.

Unless their Japanese, they have a very slim chance of getting a job at Square. Squaresoft is the American branch right? How many games have they come out with on their own?

They should've said "Woah, that's some awesome quality, we need more innovation from you young people, you're hired!" instead of rearing it's big @ss in the way and sued 'em.

Oh, and another thing, Squeenix haved recently polled Japanese gameplayers if they want a remake of Chrono Trigger on the Nintendo DS so we might see Chrono Trigger again.
