If they're trying to create crappy spinoffs of FFVII, then why can't they create a kickass spinoff of FFVI with a playable Kefka in which you can take over the world? They could partner up with Rockstar games and create it for PS2 or for all systems since destruction is what Kefka and GTA are all about. Oh while they're at it, create a Jerry Bruckheimer film based on FFVI with Johnny Depp as Locke. Sure he'd need to shave and all but at least people would pay more attention to that great game.

They need to learn more from new greats like Namco and know what FUN and Story is all about. Hey Square, where's the beef?

I mean they are getting more recognition as a great RPG company(since they were unnoticed for RPGs before) since many of Square's employees moved to Namco. Xenosaga and Baten Kaitos anyone?

Also, I'm quite surprised that no one's said that Square-Enix should have waited to see if the other three Final Fantasy VII spinoffs would turn out to be successful before making another one.

Unfortunatley, I heard of that. It looks as if no one had learned from Mario Parties 3, 4, and 5 after all.

The game is called Itadaki Street Special. Apparently, it's a long running Enix series that recently started featuring FF characters. It's a Monopoly type game, from the sound of it, rather than a Mario Party type of game. This, in a way, is fortunate, because I doubt the Square-Enix teams can make as good minigames as Nintendo.
