I'm taking gym with all the other untalented athletes. I wanted to get a preview for music theory, but it looks like that isn't going to be possible. |

I also had alot of people keep handing me Brochures because they assume that just because I'm in the Autism spectrum that I have the intellectual capabilities of Jessica Simpson. ![]() |

And we all know that nothing says "Numbnuts" like a 3.294 GPA. ![]() |

Gender: Posts: 3,010 Thanks: 0 Thanked 0 Times in 0 Posts | *ponders* In grade school, I went to this summer program for "gifted" kids. It was pretty fun, from what I remember. And that's mainly playing the Oregon Trail game in fifth or sixth grade and learning Japanese in first. But no, I've never had to take real summer school. |

At least it seems you WORK in school. Some kids don't do their homework, don't study, and don't even TRY to make it look like they're paying attention in class. And when they don't get As, their parents complain that "the teachers don't prepare them for tests." I took Japanese in kindergarten, first, second, and third grade. I don't remember a thing. I was a bad student. [ June 30, 2004, 12:11 PM: Message edited by: Princess Zelda of Hyrule: God Bless ] |

You can pass without homework, and that was ideal for me.. Nobody ever accepts the fact that the kid who sleeps in class is just bored out of his mind. I could've tested out of most of highschool, had they let me. ![]() |

But get this, for math scores make the top five percent for all the Louisiana students in my grade. How is that possible? I'm lazy. I've slept through a ton of math classes. If those learn in your sleep tapes work, then that explains it. |

Normally she gets great grades, but her high school makes kids take Trig before Geometry, so lots of kids get Ds & Fs. And remember, "I'm-a Luigi, number one!" |

I'll bet if they thoroughly analyzed every single student, they'd find some learning disability or another in each of us--heh, I'm suprised no one's harassed me about my daydreaming in class yet. Just don't take the judgement of a $peciali$t over your knowledge of your own capabilities. Summer school isn't necessarily a remedial thing. Some people do it to get credits that their schedules don't allow for during the school year. I get all my Phys. Ed. credit over the summer. [ July 01, 2004, 11:57 AM: Message edited by: Juliet ] | |
