The geniuses there decided to have it at 8 in the freakin' morning. Bah. Any of my fellow soon-to-be collegiates have orientation yet? How about some nervous freshman going into high school for the first time? Transferring to a different school? Talk about it here! Jay, Lurch, or anyone else in college: Did you have to take the obligitory math test, regardless of whether or not you actually take a math class? (I have to and I'll probably get pwn'd...) I hope my advisor lets me take different classes for a semester. I already earned a semester's worth of credits in English and Physics, so s/he'd better. |

I'm on the waiting list though... If that doesn't work, normal orientation begins on the 29th of August. It's a pity, because I would love to head off a few days earlier. |

Upperclassmen don't come until the 2nd week. For high school it was just the first day, though. Upperclassmen didn't come until the 2nd day then. And remember, "I'm-a Luigi, number one!" |

I believe they offer them at most schools if you want to pass out of something. But for me, I got a 5 on the BC Calc test, and I already had taken Calc 3 and Diff Eq at a local community college...so they didn't even bother asking me about taking a Math course...heh.-jay |

That boarders on sacriligious. Bah..) Man, I'm tired and feet really hurt, but I had fun. Got a copy of the Daily Nebraskan, met with my advisor...I can take a break from English and Science for a bit, so life it good. Oh, I also got to see an old friend of mine as an orientator. He even gave my group the tour. So I got to talk with him, and that was nice. (My schedule's in the appropriate topic, BTW, in case you guys are curious). And later, I can take a judo/karate class at Devany and put it toward my degree. Hoo-ray. I go sleep now... [EDIT] And yes, I was right. The math placement test owned my FACE. *is sad* [/EDIT] [ July 09, 2004, 12:19 AM: Message edited by: Bad Andi ] |

It was about an hour's worth of stuff stretched over two days, but otherwise not bad. Took the math placement test, and apparently unlike Bad Andi, I did well enough to place out of Math forever. My academic advisor was really cool though - she did an override to get me into a Spanish class even though it was full, and got my schedule all fixed up so that I get my general requirements out of the way so i can concentrate on my major(s). |

Yeah, I didn't have to take any tests because my standardized test scores were high enough to get me into regular math and placed into honors english (meaning one freshman english instead of 2). You're lucky you got out of remedial math...remedials can be a pain to get out of. Don't you love college? I took a Tae Kuan Do course at one point. |

Ohh, and I got to talk with my roommate, too. At first, she sounded kind of like a "LEIK OMFG!!1" kind of person. But then, that could have been the nervousness affecting her, sooo... And I will finally get a computer that will PWN. With ETHERNET. YAY!! ![]() | |
