Standardized tests suck since not every student does well on tests. Therefore, those tests aren't an effective way to see if students are learning well enough.

....Yeah.

That being said, I never really do that well on the math portion of those tests.

I have no idea when we do the SATs...sometime later this year, probably. They're usually pretty easy. Although, I'm taking the algebra part of the high school graduation exam next week...though I'm a freshman...how screwed up is that? Oh well, I guess so it'll be fresh on our minds (the people taking the exam next week were the ones who took algebra in the 8th grade)

I took a PSAT in 8th grade and got a 980.

Standardize testing sucks. And I quite loosely from "The Perfect Score": "We are encouraged all through out our school careers to be individuals and express ourselves, and then we are all suddenly generalized when it comes time for Standardized Testing"

I don't really think that strongly about it, I like the SAT and ACT because it's a test you can take about as many times as you need.

I'm a soph but I'm taking the PSAT anyway on the 16th. Supposedly we have to be at school at 7 AM. ...Guess there goes the first half of the test. =P Ah, and the PLAN test for sophs is coming up too. Well, I don't wake up till about 9:30 or 10ish, so this is gonna suck. That's why geometry last year, during first period, was one of the worst things that happened to me. Math in the morning should not be allowed. Now I just have it second period. =] I don't mind standardized testing, but I don't think it's really fair to everyone.

There was some test last year that my school didn't quite make the cut for with that No Child Left Behind thing, so we're on a list to be 'watched'. *Twitch twitch* Even though the school on average did better than the state on average did... =( And my district's so fricking in debt that if we don't pass this referendum coming up, we'll be cut down to six periods a day, most extra stuff will be cut or HUGELY reduced (For instance, foreign languages might go from the already minimal three to one!), aaaand we will not be considered a college prep school anymore. An A-level school to a C-level or something. Welcome to hell. Thank you and enjoy your stay for the next two years.

PSATs next Wednesday. I'm not too nervous. The only part I feel like I need to study for is math, just to make sure I remember all the facts that I haven't touched since middle school.

PSATs today. *snore*

Being a Freshman, I had no idea what any of the stuff on it meant. But it was pretty easy, although my vocabulary needs some touching up, heh.

George W Bush should create a No-Child-Left-Behind roboteacher who injects thousands of knowledge into our brains by way of thinking caps.
