Let's say W is the greatest number for a base google system. That gets me thousands upon thousands of zeroes in the base 10 system.

I totally got you all pawnzzored in this one. Unless you're talking Base 10, in which I'm pretty sure it IS 999.

What? But 9^9^9 is much less than infinity. It's less than 9$99 for that matter. I am outraged at the lack of marshmallows for me and everyone else.

Except that Superfactorial kicks regular factorial's ass! The notation of superfactorial is: "$" (Yea, the dollar symbol)

999$ = So much bigger than anything you've ever imagined it isn't even funny. Seriously though look at how fast it grows:

1$ = 1
2$ = 4
3$ = (3^3^3^3^3^3)
4$ = (4^4^4^4^4^4^4^4^4^4^4^4^4^4^4^4^4^4^4^4^4^4^4^4)

999$ = A lot

Anyhow, if you think I made up superfactorial or you have no idea what it is, go here and you can read all about it.

I sure hope the next time HotD has the amazing idea to do a maths quiz, she sets the rules in a way that prevents people from doing the stuff above.

I'd say something like the following:

What is the highest number you can create with just 3 base-10 digits and the mathematical operators found on a standard scientific calculator, without repeating any operator more than once?

That would entirely disallow superfactorials and created operations like ^.
