Gender: Posts: 3,010 Thanks: 0 Thanked 0 Times in 0 Posts | OMG MOD LADY SED "SECKS" WTF???!!11 You think it's all right for schools to teach sex ed or should that be left to the parents? I'd say that schools should have it. Because really...would you rather have trained medical professionals come in and talk to you about STDs and how to use a condom and how sex works, etc...? ...Or would you rather have your parents try to stumble through the basics, complete with dry coughing and lots of awkward pauses? I'll take the class, thanks. |

I don't think there's much proof of this, but I feel that if people are well-educated in sex ed, they're less likely to have sex at an early age. We can't stop teens from having sex, but we CAN educate them about wearing protection while having sex. |

But if the parents are uncomfortable with their child learning it in school, give them the final word. [ January 16, 2005, 09:55 PM: Message edited by: Princess Zelda of Hyrule ] |

Nevertheless, a school's involvement in a child's life is never an adequate substitute for his or her parents' involvement--unfortunately, many parents don't seem to understand this. |
