OMG MOD LADY SED "SECKS" WTF???!!11

You think it's all right for schools to teach sex ed or should that be left to the parents?

I'd say that schools should have it. Because really...would you rather have trained medical professionals come in and talk to you about STDs and how to use a condom and how sex works, etc...?

...Or would you rather have your parents try to stumble through the basics, complete with dry coughing and lots of awkward pauses?

I'll take the class, thanks.

I think that it should be offered in schools, but it is the parents' perrogative to decide whether to allow or disallow the school to teach it to their child(ren).

Schools should def. teach it.

I don't think there's much proof of this, but I feel that if people are well-educated in sex ed, they're less likely to have sex at an early age.

We can't stop teens from having sex, but we CAN educate them about wearing protection while having sex.

My Mom and Dad taught me and I learn though school.

I say the school does it better, because they have to go through it every year.

I think that the schools should teach it, but like pretty much most things in elementary, the parents should be able to take their kids out if they want to.

It ought to be taught by both. But if the parents are uncomfortable with their child learning it in school, give them the final word.

It's the school's job to provide students with factual information about the consequences of sex, and parents' to provide them with moral guidelines. Nevertheless, a school's involvement in a child's life is never an adequate substitute for his or her parents' involvement--unfortunately, many parents don't seem to understand this.
