But to me, there is really no need for them unless you have an abundance of dress code problems.

I'll tell you what it is. It's an unnecessary assault on personal taste.

I know that my highschool never had any problems with "rowdiness" due to lack of uniforms...=/

They just make me feel uncomfortable, is all.

Is it just me or is blaming bad behavior on clothing stupider than blaming it on videogames.

Actually, clothing causing bad behavior has more merit than videogames causing it ^_^

It's true! Wearing a swastika is WAY more dangerous than playing a game with Nazis in it!

New Policy for Shelby County Schools for the 2005-2006 School Year
However, it has came up in the news that Germantown, TN and Collierville, TN are making efforts to secede, or leave Shelby County, meanin this may not even go into effect for us, but I'm sharing anyway.

^ The only thing that looks remote bad in that is the fact that you can't wear shorts. Then again, I only am allowed to wear shorts on the weekends due to my job, so...

I don't see anything that says we can't wear shorts.

It says Shorts, Skirts....etc.. that come 4 inches above the knee.

Aside from that, I don't really care anymore, since they don't even see us as people, and some teachers have said that themselves.

I just roll with it, I don't like it, but what choice do I have? Dr. S (principal) has even said that he hates it himself, and would like to just remove this, less stress for them, he said there weren't as many dress code problems within the past 4 years together as there have been this semester alone (which is when the "shirt tail" dress code started).

I've never really had much of a problem with school uniforms. Granted, I'd prefer to be able to wear casual clothes, but I'm fine either way. Of course, the dress code for my high school requires:

-Either a light blue/dark blue golf shirt (like a polo) OR a light blue oxford
-Khacki pants
-Brown or black shoes

Aside from shirts, it's actually pretty lenient, or at least more than the other schools nearby. The only requirement for pants and shoes is that they be the right color...so I wear tannish cargo pants and brown tennis shoes. This is what I wear normally anyway (though with different colors, but who cares?), aside from the shirts (I wear t-shirts), but golf shirts can be pretty comfortable...heck, I'm in my uniform now. However, I do remember hating the uniform of my middle school, which was much more strict...

Some elementary mom's started petitioning the county's policy for dresscode. I'm not in school, but Andre showed me the handbook and I read the dress code section and thought it was f-in rediculous.

On the news last week there were mothers talkin about it. Some children had been sent home (these are young Kindergaterners, 1st graders, etc.) had been sent home and written up for not having a belt worn in a belt loop.

They're freakin children, having a belt on will make it harder for the slower ones to go to the bathroom.

I'm not lettin my girls go to any of these schools anyway, because they suck at educating.

I'm glad we have a freaking Dress Code. Any form of Dress code's better than sitting around in math class in itchy, uncomfortable, stiff, cloth that shrinks to the size of Barbie cloths every time it so much as gets wet or eye-sore outfits.

When my neighbour still went to catholic school, I think I broke a rib trying not to laugh at that hideous outfit.
