Maturity is being able to be serious when the occasion calls for it and unserious when the occasion calls for it. 2. What is your definition of "immaturity" please? Not that thing I said up there. 3. The ability to make correct choices and actually thinking before acting. I believe age would also be a factor. And common sense. Yeah. 2. What is your definition of "immaturity" please? Pretty much the opposite of what I said for "maturity." My cousin would be considered immature, seeing as she dropped out of school in her Freshman year (highschool) and decided to a cosmotologist. That's fine, but then she gave up on that and decided that she can mooch of her dad. Then she decided she could move to Washington. Couldn't make the trip because her boyfriend got arrested for both Underage drinking and DWI (or DUI. Can't remember what they have in Alaska.) And she has some bad habits, too (Pot, cigarettes, alcohol. Actually, she drinks responibly, which is rather surprising.) And she has a bad attitide with all of us. 3. If you're comfortable in posting your age, please do this too now. 17. 4. Do you consider yourself mature for your age? I guess so. I'm not as 'eccentric' as I was a couple years ago, so I guess I've improved. And I don't have bad habits, except for staying on the computer too long. ![]() |

Maturity is being able to make the right choices at the right times, and also knowing when to be silly and when to be silly. 2. The opposite of what I said up there. 3. 14 4. I dunno, maybe...however, my "when to be silly" times seem to be alot. ^^ That has more to do with personality than maturity, though. |

Maturity: the state of being fully grown or developed--a person is psychologically mature when he has lived long enough and gained enough experiences to be capable of making good decisions on his own. You could say that maturity is synonymous with independence, sense and sensibility. 2. Immaturity: the state of being underdeveloped--an immature person is so young and inexperienced that he depends largely on other people's decisions. 3. 17 4. I think more maturely than most people my age seem to--I tend to make decisions based on their longterm effects even if I can't enjoy any short-term effects, whereas a lot of teenagers are so concerned with making themselves happy RIGHT NOW that they'll do drugs, have sex, get into treacherous relationships, drive recklessly and sluff off schoolwork and otherwise risk screwing themselves over in the future. Still, I'm very lazy, timid and dependent on other people. Even though I'm a lot farther along than others are in some respects, I haven't quite reached maturity. |

Being able to take criticism without thinking the world is out to get you. Being able to argue without raising your voice. Being less afraid of embarrassment than of letting your thoughts go unspoken. Being aware that, if it's only there for when we're not tempted, and not for the times when it's hardest and least convenient to obey it, Law is pointless. Being able to tell the truth that you're good, beautiful, and talented, without wondering how arrogant you sound. Not being ashamed to act like a child. 2. What is your definition of "immaturity" please? Not being willing to go a little off the wall to make your point. Taking arguments as personal insults. Thinking your personal issues give you authority when it comes to world issues - e.g. shutting up any debate about abortion because your aunt had one, or not letting your friends argue about divorce because your parents had one. Not recognizing that issues are bigger than individual cases. Sympathy contests - believing you've cornered the market on misery. Refusing to understand your little sister's grief over the death of her goldfish, because your boyfriend just committed suicide. 3. If you're comfortable in posting your age, please do this too now. 17.5, a junior in high school. 4. Do you consider yourself mature for your age? Generally. Knowing when is the good time for playing, and when it is the good time for being serious. It also depends on how you also behave during serious times. 2. What is your definition of "immaturity" please? The opposite. 3. If you're comfortable in posting your age, please do this too now. 16. 4. Do you consider yourself mature for your age? I am a mixture of both, but I am good-hearted. (Sometimes I whine, but that's during a bad day when things suck and I am emotionally stressed.) |
