AP Testing...woo!

In about a month, the bane of many high school students will finally arrive: AP TESTING. Very stressful, yet very useful in college as it can give you plenty of credit hours.

So, in the spirit of the AP exams...which ones are you taking this year? Which ones have you taken the past? Do you feel ready for any of the ones you are taking? :-P

Last year I took AP Music Theory (got a 5), and this year I'm taking AP Chemistry and AP English Lit. Honestly, I don't feel like I'm ready for either of them...O_o

Dual credit is better.

And remember, "I'm-a Luigi, number one!"

The music theory one was interesting...they give you several excerpts from music in different time periods, and you have to answer questions about them. That section wasn't bad, but the free-response was difficult...one of the parts was listening to a chord progression, writing out the soprano and the bass voices, and the type of chord being played. Sight-singing was the last part, and it wasn't that bad...just don't get a cold the day of the exam :-P

I was wondering about the Music Theory AP Exam, too. I'm taking that class next year. This year, I have English Literature and US History. US History will be TERRIBLE... =( I'm only half-worried about English Lit. I've been doing pretty well preparing for that one. Honestly, I just SUCK at DBQs, and essays in general, for history class. I can not wait for that exam to be over with...

Well, hopefully in US History, you'll have a teacher that actually teaches you... my class and I are having to form a study group because she is so TERRIBLE!!! I'm going to fail that test.

I'm doing French Lit, Music Theory, English Language, and English Lit. Last year I took French Language and Spanish Language (5 on both). The only one I really have to work for this year is Music Theory. All the written parts like 4 part harmonizations I can do no problem (our mid-year test was all written and I got 100% on it). It's the listening parts that I'm really gonna have to do a lot of work for. Especially the one in which you write out the bass and soprano and the melody dictations. I have to practice a lot for those, because I really want the 5, and since I'm looking to do a career in music, good music universities are gonna be much kinder on me if I have a 5 in music theory.

I wouldn't worry about the English Lit too much, to be honest. My friend took both the Language and Lit last year, and he got a 4 on Language and 5 on Lit without doing any studying whatsoever. One thing that they've told me is to take my school's Art of Poetry and Shakespeare classes, as that's the best preparation you can get for the Lit, and I've done just that, so I'm not worried at all. And besides I'm by nature very, very good with language and writing essays and all the rest.
