I've had some pretty weird adjustments myself. I was at a public school for kindergarten, and from there I went straight from private tutoring and homeschool for first and second grade. I switched to a different public school from third grade, and then in seventh grade I started going to a tiny private school. I'm still there now, but if I can't get a scholarship for next year, I'll have to switch back to public school. I'm really, really scared. None of the public schools I've ever gone to were very big. The school I go to right now has about 70 or 80 people per grade level, and I know everybody there. |

The local public school is HUGE, especially compared to the one I currently attend. But it's supposed to have excellent theater, music, and art departments, which is what I want. There are supposed to be nine or ten productions a year, and there's a women's chorus and a symphonic choir that I'd really like to join (The auditions for those groups have already been held, but the director of my community choir works there, and he'll probably get me and my sister in. Hee-hee, aren't connections fun?). At my current school, there have been budget cuts in the arts, and the choir has especially declined since last year, so this will be a pleasant change. There are a lot of good things that could come from this. I'm aware that this school doesn't require as much PE credit, which is always good for me. But I'm still a little bit shocked and very nervous, even though I've put myself through months of mental preparation. Any advice?
