I go to the University of Waterloo. I am confused about how your American post-secondary institutions work.

Also, "colege" is kind of ironic.

Well the short of it is, after you go to secondary school (high school) for 4 years, you apply to any number of colleges you wish to attend. Most go right into a 4-year program, but it is also possible to go to a 2-year community college and then do the 4-year. Anyway, once you get there, there are usually a set of core courses that you have to take and after a certain amount of time you declare a major, and once you have that set most of your classes revolve around that major. *shrug*

So you don't apply for a program when you're applying for post-secondary education? You just go to the college and hope you can scrounge courses for a major?

Also kinda wondering the difference between colleges and universities.

Pfft, I can throw farther than Chad Pennington, and I can't even throw far.

Now going to the school where Roddy White is an alumni, that's.........well, a bit shamefull.

Anyway, to answer your question Ace, I believe the difference between the two is that: Universities usually consist of several schools (School of Education, Optometry, etc.), while Colleges don't usually divide themselves into schools (Morehouse being a good example of that).

Actaully, most of the active members are in college now, or beyond. (ML, Mart, UN and Val are a few that aren't in school).

  1. By insulting us, you are trolling in a thread. That is not smart.
  2. I know at least ten members who are post-secondary. We do not want people who aren't in college or considering college posting in this thread, especially if it is specifically to insult us.
  3. Learn how to write properly. Read a book.

University of Wisconsin-Madison. And just in time for its reputation as one of our nation's best public universities to start crumbling.

You have the option of choosing a major right away (I did), but you're also allowed to enroll & take other classes for a while if you're unsure of what you want to major in.

And remember, "I'm-a Luigi, number one!"

I'll be going to the University of Arizona come August, going into the Honors College and "University College", which is basically the place all us undeclared-major students go because we don't have a clue about what we want to do with our lives yet.

Physical Education biatch.

At the University of Alabama Birmingham, and no, it's not the same as University of Alabama, two completely different schools that are rivals.
