Things I have learned from being a freshman.

Well, I have been a freshman for about a good 3 months, and heres what I have learned.

1. Nobody gives a f*ck about what you think.
2. The Principal is god, he will solve all your problems.
3. If you are on the freshman team, and you win western devision championship, don't expect a big ass party, the most you will get is a pat on the back.
4. Seniors are complete *******s (well, most of em).
5. Sophmores think that they are soo better than you, so if one starts talking **** to you, don't swing unless he swings at you first, just stand there, and laugh at his stupidy.
6. You don't need to pay attention unless you actually planning on going to college.
7. Has anyone ever told you "Knowledge is power, a power that can save your life"?, if yes, they are full of ****.
8. ( Thank you to SimKid for this one) If you get a detention/suspension, don't think of it as a punishment, its just a free day off of school, your only in trouble with your parents.
9. If you play freshman football, people don't give a ****, they only about you if you play for JV/Varsity.
10. People will start drama just for the sake of having drama.
11. Nobody is your friend, if anyone calls you that, they are lying.
12. Get at least on 1 teachers good side, it will help you out eventually.

And the list goes on....
But I am too lazy to type it up xD.

High School was so much fun, and when you become a senior, you'll understand .

College >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> HS though

When I was a freshman in high school, I learned not to break my collar bone and turn the rest of my life into a total free-for-all. Sweet times.

Also: College > HS. Definitively.

Honestly, I found high school to be nothing like that at all when I was a freshman. I guess there were a few comments from the sophomores, but it wasn't like they hated you. And if they did, it'll change in the next couple of years. Being a senior right now, I don't treat anybody badly, but the freshman do look so small compared to everybody else.

I had an awful high school experience until I moved. I agree with most of what SocialDistortion said. I'm not a sports guy, but the rest I agree on for the most part of my old school.

One notable instance is that I saw this kid literally open my corrupt locker and look at my stuff. I just stood there looking at him. He was there at his girlfriend's locker(I assume). I didn't do anything, I should have. I just didn't know how to report some kid I didn't know. Well next thing a few days later I lose my jacket(a nice one), with my cell phone inside of it and someone apparently found my Spanish book in the restrooms all tattered and torn. Luckily I didn't have to pay for the book, but no investigation was made or anything about my losses; I just filled some stupid form listing my missing items. That was the end of that.

Luckily, I managed to get into a high school the year it opened, so I haven't had problems with people in higher grades. (i.e. because they don't exist)

My high school doesn't care if you're freshmen necessarily, it's all based around how stupid/slutty your class is. For example, we all hated the freshmen last year, but we love the new ones this year, and still hate the sophomores. They're just a horrible class.

Things I have learned as a Senior:

1. Exercise your power. Freshmen should learn to respect their superiors early. If this includes shoving them out of your way because they're way too slow and you need to get to your next class right away, go right ahead. Slap one in the back of the head because you hate their voice? Go on ahead. Don't be a complete ass, though. Make sure they learn, and make that lesson an actual lesson, not BS.

2. Get some lower classmen to love you. When I was a Sophomore, I managed to get nearly all the Freshmen of that year to love me. Now that I'm a Senior, I have a lot of Juniors that will miss me when I graduate. Plus, a certain lady friend of mine is a Junior.

3. Have fun, it's your last bloody year.

High School is a worthless portion of education. I skipped mine primarily by doing all the work in two years, then shipping off to College.

Best. Decision. Of. My. Life.

All throughout the public school system, it was first people hitting me, then me getting in trouble for defending myself, and the highschools around here (Prison High School, as we call one of them) are dangerous places with barred windows, metal detectors, and security guards.

Wheras in College, the next punk to even try to hit me for no reason is likely to be tackled by about eight police cadets--at least, they all drive around the place nonstop at all hours and even police the streets around the College.

UAB > You

That being said, I miss some elements of high school, I miss having almost no responsibility (even though I thought I did), I miss hanging out with friends every day and on weekends. There are just things I miss about it, but it's all good, I had my 4 years, and I enjoyed them (when I realized time is short), but now I'm onto new experiences and I am enjoying what has been one of the craziest years of my life (good and bad).

I'm a freshman but I don't have any such problems....

Because I'm lucky.

-in 8th grade, I went to a tiny school where every grade had only one class, so we all knew each other and made close friends. We all went to the same high school, the only one in our town.

-now, I stick close to those friends... I befriend other people, of course, but mostly stay with the people I know I can trust.

-My school has an a-class system, where if you get a certain GPA and qualifications you can get into these 'A-Classes'. This way, you can stay away from all of the druggies and ****heads who go to the lower classes.

...

So, I'm sorry HS is like this for you...

But you have to trust somebody. Friends are the only people who can help you... if you have friends and stay by them, mostly the upperclassmen have better things to do than approach you and attack you for no good reason.

Then again, I don't go to your school, so I wouldn't know...

Started high school in 1999, graduated in 2003. Thank god these days are over.

I've repressed most of high school, thankfully.

Although I'm glad that I didn't skip any grades.

I hear these stories of people who finish their college degrees when they're still in their teens, and it just sounds sad.

Oh, and while College >>>>>>> High School (for sure),

Graduate school >>>>>>> Undergraduate

Try being an artist at a sports-obsessed school. No funding, no appreciation. Well, unless you do something amazing. You can then expect the community to take full credit for your individual abilities, without any support prior-to.

I had a great time in HS, and didn't realize it until senior year, I wish I would have appreciated it a bit more. That said, UAB is too much fun to go back to CHS.
