| Senior Member | They put my friend on academic dismissal without even probation. I'm like shocked a college can put a person on dismissal without even giving them the chance of probation. He was in his 3rd semester of community college then BAM he fails a math class and the rest of his courses are Ds thereby moving him down to a 1.81 putting him on academic dismissal. This is weird to me because in my four years of college we were given the chance to bring them back up with something called academic probation if we were under a certain GPA before they were kicked out of school. |

What was his cumulative gpa the prior semester? I mean if it was pretty good, can't he appeal or something? Cause that is ridiculous. Would employers know that he was dismissed from a University when looking through his records? If so that is going to look pretty bad on his part. He definitely should find a way to fight this. |

| Senior Member | They said he can't go back for one semester. That really sucks for him though because like that is one semester he will be behind. It's a hard lesson in life that you can't goof off in college or else you can really pay for your mistakes. I warned him but he still failed. College really is no joke. It's nothing like high school. |

| Senior Member | I helped the kid write a letter (3 pages) explaining changes he would make to his own life in order to achieve satisfactory progress. They granted his appeal and he is off academic dismissal. |
