my dad woke me up at 11:30 this morning because the school called, I was like oh crap, what did i do, but apparently they want me to show a new student around school... today, at 2:00 PM, has anyone ever heard of anything like this, because i haven't...

I think I had to do it one time in grade school when we got a new student in the middle of the day, but I've never heard of being called at home.

I've heard of students showing new or prospective students around, but never with that short of a notice.

Perhaps the faculty simply trust you more or something of that nature.
