The Phantom Menace

Ok, so why does everyone say this movie sucked? I realize it was overhyped, and people were expecting something groundbreaking, but this was almost a completely different story. It was supposed to be about Anakin.
That movie did not suck. You may not have liked it, but it did not suck. In fact, I find it very entertaining. (AOTC is my least favorite) It's my 3rd favorite from all the SW films.

The first scene aboard the Trade Federation Control Ship is great! And Jar Jar isn't that annoying once you watch it a few times. Young Anakin still kind of annoys me though.

Yeah, most people pretty much knew everything at the end of episode 6.. Maybe that was it...I like star wars, and the 1,2,and 3 movies are the best.

I liked it better than the other two prequels. Actually, I thought it was near the quality of the original trilogy. (I saw it seven times in the theatres. I'm neither ashamed nor proud of that fact, but merely reporting it objectively.)

The only place Jar-Jar is any use whatsoever is in Lego Star Wars. Jake Lloyd was no help either, and Natalie Portman really seemed to be phoning it in. Add in some really bloody lame contrivances like 3PO being Ani's creation and the midi-chlorians, plus the atrocious dialogue, and that's why people pan it.

I will admit, though, that there were some good performances, and the lightsaber fights totally ruled. But to me it's still tied at the bottom with Attack of the Clones.

And remember, "I'm-a Luigi, number one!"
