Read any Star Wars books?

Well, I used to say that EU sucked, but I got Shadows of the Empire, read it, and was quite impressed. It was well written and I loved the humor in it.
I have started reading Tales from Jabba's Palace and Tales from the Mos Eisley Cantina as well, going back and forth between the short stories.

I will not, however, read any New Jedi Order. That's just way too out there...

You should read the Han Solo Trilogy. That is some of the best I've ever read. Also, Tales from the Mos Eisley Cantina is fun, as I'm a huge fan of the Modal Nodes. -CSM

Tons. The Jedi Academy trilogy, Children of the Jedi, I, Jedi, the X-Wing series...you name it. But the New Jedi Order lost my interest when they killed Chewie.
